HEARTBREAKING: Emmerdale Aaron and Robert reunion ‘SEALED’ as fans left in tears

Emmerdale viewers struggled to hold back the tears after Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) shared a tender moment together. Last week, after attacking his half-brother John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), Robert agreed to put their feud behind them. During Monday night’s episode, John and Aaron entered the shop and saw Robert, sparking a swift exit from John. Aaron agreed to have a coffee with Robert, who asked him to sit down and clear the air.
“I promised him and I promise you, it’s over,” Robert told his ex-husband. Robert admitted he has been struggling since being released from prison and suggested taking some time to “relearn how to act”. After Aaron noted that Robert has been “doing some thinking”, he questioned whether it was better if he “cuts his losses” and moves away from the village for good. “Is this the part where I’m supposed to tell you to stay?,” Aaron said with a slight smile on his face. Robert didn’t respond with words, leading Aaron to remind him that John simply wants him to let them live their lives.

“But I can do that anywhere,” Robert pointed out. “Somewhere where nobody knows me or I can do it here where everybody hates me.”
It appeared Aaron was reluctant to agree with his ex-husband as he quipped: “They’ll hate you anywhere sooner or later.” Staring into Robert’s eyes, Aaron took a deep breath and realised what he was doing, cancelling his coffee order before heading out.
Convincing his ex to stay in the village, Aaron explained: “Your roots are here, Robert. Don’t underestimate that.” As Aaron stood up, he turned back and said: “People do care about you,” alluding that he is one of those people.
The scene was one of the first proper conversations Aaron has had with Robert since the special prison episode in June and unsurprisingly sparked a frenzy amongst Robron fans.
Taking to X, one wrote: “Robert needed to hear that after the last week and the fact it came from Aaron of all people,” followed by a face holding back tears emoji.

Another penned: “‘People do care about you, you know’ Aaron’s trying, he’s trying to show he cares even when he’s struggling with so much. I hope Robert takes everything away from this that he was trying to give.”
A third echoed: “Crying. Aaron and Robert where left alone and Aaron’s already internally freaking the fuck out within seconds of having a conversation with him without John around.”
Predicting a reunion could be on the horizon, another posted: “Did anyone else hear the emotion in Aaron’s voice when he told Robert “people” care about him.. those walls are coming down & he can’t run away from his feelings forever.”
