Andy Reid reveals Kansas City Chiefs’ strategy for NFL Draft in bid to rebuild team for another Super Bowl run
The Chiefs general manager also offered a similar opinion on the NFL Draft
KANSAS City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has shared the team’s possible plan for the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Chiefs will look to rebound next season following the brutal Super Bowl 59 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this month.

On Tuesday, Andy Reid took questions from reporters at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
The 66-year-old was asked what he thinks about the upcoming draft’s strengths.
“It looks like the defense is fully loaded here. It looks like a strong defensive draft,” Reid said.
He added, “Not there won’t be some great offensive guys, but it really looks like it’s strong on the defensive side.”
Reid’s remarks could mean the Chiefs’ possible selection of a defensive player with their No. 31 overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
His stance mirrors what scouts believe the upcoming NFL Draft to be: a loaded defensive prospect pool.
The defensive line group, especially, is lauded. Penn State edge Abdul Carter anchors the class, followed by Michigan defensive tackle Mason Graham and Georgia edge rusher Jalon Walker.
NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah has 31 defensive linemen in his top 100 prospects – the most he’s had in the group.
Kansas City is coming off a disappointing 40-22 big game showdown loss to the Eagles.
Reid’s squad fell behind 34-0 during the third quarter of the game as they were dominated in all facets in the first 45 minutes.
Chiefs general manager Brett Veach was also asked what stands out in this year’s draft, and his answer was similar to Reid’s.

“This is a deep running back class. That’s the one position offensive where I think it’s deep,” Veach said at the Scouting Combine on Tuesday.
“In general, I think it’s more of a defensive draft.
“The talent is on the defensive line and [with] the corners.
“I think it’s a solid linebacking crew.”
Reid and the Chiefs will get to see the defensive linemen and linebacker prospects perform in drills on Thursday.
The following day, the draft’s defensive backs and tight end prospects will show their skills on Friday.
The quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs will take part in the drills on Saturday.
Lastly, the offensive linemen will showcase their talents on Sunday.
