Lorraine Kelly supported by fans as she shares tragic post after show taken off-air

Lorraine Kelly was supported by fans as she shared an emotional social media post just days after her ITV show was taken off-air. Lorraine had been replaced by Ben Shephard and Christine Lampard last week after failing to show up to present the programme, before Christine explained to viewers on Friday (March 6) that the programme wouldn’t be airing for the next few weeks.
Now Lorraine has taken to Instagram to share a tragic post after the loss of her dad John Kelly, who died in January 2026. She shared a throwback snap of her dad with Hollywood actor Robin Williams, writing: “Would have been my dad’s 85th birthday today. Been looking at old photos.
“I love this one of my dad and uncle Billy with the wonderful Robin Williams. They came with me when I interviewed him. Afterwards he chatted to them for ages, did a perfect Glasgow accent and laughed about them all being dressed alike, saying they were the ‘Three Amigos’.
“A lovely memory. Sadly all of the three amigos are no longer with us. Much missed.”
Lorraine was immediately supported by friends and fans, with Dr Amir Khan and Charlotte Hawkins both responding to the post with red love heart emojis.
One fan told her: “A lovely story and a beautiful memory.”
“Beautiful memories Lorraine. Thinking of you all today,” another echoed.
While a third said: “Sending heavenly wishes to your dad. Thank you for sharing a special memory with us. Sending love from Aberdeen.”
It comes after fans worried for Lorraine after she was under the weather while presenting her show, before it was taken off-air.
The 66-year-old sounded hoarse last week, explaining to fans that she’d tried ginger and honey to soothe her throat.
She told viewers: “My voice is getting a little bit better, it’s actually not too bad, and the good news is I’m not infectious, Dr. Amir’s checked me out.”
