Los Angeles Lakers fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of their superstar, LeBron James, who has missed the last six games due to a groin injury. Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves stepped up in his absence, leading the team to three wins. However, with the Lakers trailing the Houston Rockets by one game for the second seed, James’ return could be crucial.
The Lakers’ latest injury report for their upcoming matchup against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday lists James as questionable. This update has sparked optimism, suggesting he may take the court and help the team in their playoff push.
James suffered the injury on March 8, 2025, during a game against the Boston Celtics. Before his injury, he averaged 25.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 8.5 assists per game.
The injury report also lists Luka Doncic as probable with a right ankle sprain, meaning he is expected to play. Dorian Finney-Smith, Austin Reaves, and Jarred Vanderbilt are also labeled probable for the game. However, Maxi Kleber remains out as he recovers from right foot surgery.

LeBron James has never shied away from defending his son, Bronny James, especially against critics like ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith. Recently, LeBron called out Smith for his harsh take on Bronny’s NBA potential. However, after Bronny’s standout performance in the Lakers’ 118-89 loss on Thursday night, Smith had to reconsider his stance.
“I might have been wrong. Are you listening, LeBron James? Are you listening, James’s family?” Smith admitted on First Take.
Despite the Lakers’ blowout loss, Bronny shined in the spotlight. The rookie guard stepped up while his father was sidelined due to injury. He scored 17 points, the most in his young NBA career, proving that he belongs on the big stage.
