Emmerdale‘s Belle Dingle considers a bittersweet new opportunity next week as Jacob Gallagher gets an idea.

Belle is surprised by an unexpected visit from Jacob as she continues to keep the Take A Vow wedding business running.

Viewers know that Jacob’s mum Leyla Harding launched Take A Vow alongside Megan Macey in 2014.

Before the tragic limo crash last month, Leyla was still in charge of the business with Suzy Merton and Belle acting as her main employees.

Next week, Jacob decides that the time has come to discuss Take A Vow’s future following Leyla and Suzy’s devastating deaths in the crash.

Jacob reveals that he’s willing to sell the business to Belle, which would cement her position as the sole leader moving forward.

Belle is shocked as this clearly wasn’t what she’d been expecting, but could this be the chance she needs for a fresh start after her ordeal with her abusive husband Tom?

Fans will remember that Belle returned to work at Take A Vow in February and was warmly welcomed back by Leyla and Suzy.

This marked an important turning point for Belle, as Tom had previously forced her to step away from the business while he was controlling every aspect of her life.

Speaking in December about Belle’s long-term future, Eden Taylor-Draper – who plays her – commented: “I don’t think there’ll be an end point to that journey or that healing. Speaking to the producers and the research team, everyone’s so passionate that this story doesn’t end when this side of the story ends.

“There’s a whole other world to explore with it. I guess this is the side that you don’t often see, the aftermath and the healing. I’m really proud that it’s something they’re so focused on getting right as well.”

Meanwhile, Roxy Shahidi – who played Leyla – recently spoke to Digital Spy about bowing out from the ITV soap.

Asked whether Leyla’s fate came as a shock, Roxy replied: “In the moment, it was a shock. But I think all actors like some range in their lives, so that is something that I’ve considered over the years.

“Again, to use that term, it was bittersweet. Getting the push was a mix of emotions. It was a sense of relief, because you think: ‘Now I’ve got to get out there and do some new things’.

“But it was also really sad because you love the character, you love the job, you love your friends. It feels like a family on the show.”

Emmerdale airs Belle and Jacob’s scenes on Friday, April 4 on ITV1 and ITVX.
