Savannah Guthrie wasn’t on her usual spot on the Today Show, prompting fans to wonder where she was. Her reasoning for missing was a heartwarming one.
The talk show host recently announced that she was planning on stepping away from the show while she goes on tour for her new book. It’s a children’s book called ‘Mostly What God Does is Love You,’ the companion to her first book, ‘Mostly What God Does.’
She was on air for the Valentine’s Day episode, as she helped a couple get engaged on the air for the special episode. Fans weren’t expecting her to be absent Tuesday, however, as she was replaced by Saturday anchor Laura Jarrett.
Guthrie cleared things up by posting about what has kept her away. She is on a trip with her family in Palm Beach, F.L..

The host posted snaps of her and her family soaking in the sun, playing in the pool, and enjoying a round of bingo. They stayed at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach.
The caption read: “Turns out all they needed was more sunshine, more pink, more bingo, more pink, more warmth, more pink drinks, more time more together.”
Guthrie also shared a surprise guest she ran into on her trip. She posted a selfie with Hoda Kotb while they were at dinner, saying: “Oh and a bonus @hodakotb sighting for a little extra.”
