Barstool Sports’ Dan Katz A.K.A. “Big Cat” has revealed that he and Dave Portnoy recently turned down a $10 million offer from Saudi Arabia, though not for moral reasons.

Middle Eastern entities have flooded billions of dollars into the world of sports in recent years, and everyone’s taking their money. In addition to LIV Golf, they have a partnership with WWE and fund TKO’s Zuffa Boxing.
They’re even bringing Tom Brady out of retirement to play flag football next year.
Katz was speaking on Thursday’s episode of ‘Barstool Yak’ when he claimed that Saudi Arabia is doing a good job of sports washing.
“They’re washing the sh*t out of stuff,” he said.

The ‘Pardon My Take’ co-host would also reveal that he and the Barstool Sports owner, who debuted on ‘Big Noon Kickoff’ this season, were invited to attend an unspecified boxing match but could not come to terms on a price, with the Saudis falling $5 million short.

“By the way, I’m not judging this one either, because Dave and I were once offered and they just didn’t reach our price, but we were gonna go,” he said about the upcoming Riyadh Comedy Festival.
“There was a boxing match — for the two of us to attend and we talked on the phone and we were like, ‘it’s a sh*tload of travel. Give us like $15 million and we’ll do it.’ And they were like, ‘we can do 10 [million]’ and we were like, ‘no.’”
Portnoy, who has been criticized for terminating an employee over a positive post directed at Charlie Kirk’s family, could probably use an extra $10 mil right now, given his platform’s declining ratings. But things don’t appear to be so bad.
Big Cat also noted that much of that money would have gone toward the company, not just him and Dave. But it’s still surprising that they would turn down such an amount, especially as all they had to do was show up.
They must really be rolling in it.
