Strictly Come Dancing star and former Love Islander Zara McDermott has teamed up with nutritionist Dr Emily Prpa to launch a wellness podcast, and it’s about busting beauty myths through honest conversations. Last week, the duo celebrated the launch of Feel Good Formula podcast, which they partnered with Boots to recommend products from gut health and skincare to sleep hacks.

The 29-year-old competed Strictly in 2023 and recently, she appeared as a guest expert and mentor on The Apprentice in April 2026 during the show’s 20th series. Last Monday, she welcomed a community of women to Shoreditch where she co-hosted the inaugural event for the podcast.

She opened up to the audience and explained why she decided to enter the beauty world. Sharing at the exclusive event, Zara said: “For me, personally, I am like an influencer’s biggest dream. I buy so many products, I have literally tried everything – exercises, supplements, skincare, makeup, whatever it is. I can be influenced so easy, the money I spent over the years, I don’t even want to know.

“But I feel like there is not enough space online that really cut through the noise, what actually worked and what doesn’t? And what is a waste of my time and money? I just felt like we are really lacking on that conversation online, because we are all exposed with so much content and information all the time. So when we started thinking about what to do, I need somewhere to go, somewhere that cuts the crap and tells me the fact.”

Her co-host, Dr Emily Prpa, brought her knowledge and expertise to the podcast. During the warm-up game, she left the audience shell shocked when they were asked if period-syncing a myth or truth. She said: “It’s just the matter of odds. One week of the month, you’re going to menstruate, the odds are you’re going to overlap with your friend eventually. Unfortunately, there is no science behind this.”

The weekly podcast invites guests including Frida Redknapp, Olivia Bowen, Jazz Saunders and Jules Pollard as they navigate through topics like self confidence, high-fibre diet and more.

When it comes to a routine, Zara also admitted that she is not an “all-day-eating-healthy” person, adding: “I’m not someone who gets up early in the morning. I’m all about balance. But one thing that I stay consistent with, and I would say that keeps me going is resistance training. That, for me, is so important.

“I do two to three sessions a week, and I’ve done it for seven years now. That’s achievable and attainable for me, and honestly, I feel like a bad b**ch walking out of the gym. I lifted hundreds of hundreds of kilos, I can do anything. It’s something about the mindset, but don’t get me wrong, I don’t enjoy going to the gym, I procrastinate but when I get there, I’m so glad I’ve done that.”
