Coronation Street viewers are not convinced former villain Mason Radcliffe is telling the full truth about his abusive brothers on the ITV soap, fearing Stu Carpenter is in trouble

Coronation Street fans are worried about Stu Carpenter, after suspecting Mason Radcliffe could be lying to him about a sad twist.
Viewers saw the troubled teen opening up to Stu this week about his home life and his abusive brothers. After Stu found him in the restaurant hours before opening time, he questioned what was going on.
Mason told him that he’d spent the night there to avoid another beating from his violent older brothers. He’s previously hinted his brothers aren’t good to him, with it also revealed they’re keen to drag him into a life of crime.
Just months ago Mason was arrested after he threatened Liam Connor with a knife, amid months of bullying him. He targeted Liam to the point the teen considered taking his own life.
The harrowing plot led to Mason being exposed and he left the show, before making a return recently. Amid viewers being divided over a likely redemption arc storyline, upcoming scenes will see Mason in trouble as one of his brothers, Logan, heads to Weatherfield.
But amid his issues at home and Stu looking out for him, some fans believe he could be lying. Viewers are convinced the teen is hiding something and has maybe made up the story about his brothers in order to get Stu on side

Taking to X after recent scenes, one viewer said: “I don’t believe Mason’s telling the truth about his brothers.” Another agreed: “See, this is where Joel went wrong. He should have concocted an abusive brother of something like Mason and everyone would forgive him.”
Others questioned if there was more to be revealed, and whether a new villain was on the way. One fan said: “I wonder if there’s more to Mason’s family life than we realise,” as another wrote: “So what I’m hearing is, Mason’s brother is worse than he is?”
It seems there is a sad abuse storyline unfolding with Mason despite his past, with actor Luca Toolan suggesting viewers might finally find out what had made him the way he is. He recently explained: “I think this is the kind of abuse Mason has faced his whole life which unfortunately is what has shaped him into the kind of person he is today.
“I think once Mason is fully back on screen, we will see little nuggets of things which we will be able to explore further into his backstory and give a clearer insight into his family life.”
