Jenna Bush Hager was excited to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day on her show Jenna & Friends by following the popular TikTok trend of ‘splitting the G’ but didn’t end up so lucky

Jenna Bush Hager had quite the Saint Patrick’s Day on live television yesterday.
Hager celebrated Saint Patrick’s Day on her show Today with Jenna & Friends yesterday and decided to raise a glass to the holiday with her co-host WillIe Geist. In following the popular TikTok trend, the two tried to “split the G” while drinking a Guinness famously from Dublin, Ireland.
But instead of successfully splitting the G, Hager made quite the mess on her emerald green dress while sitting next to her co-host leaving her in shock as she said “What just happened?”
The episode of Jenna & Friends started off with artist Niall Horan explaining how to split the G successfully, a trend that has been going viral on TikTok where drinkers are challenged to drink just enough Guinness in their first sip that the rest of their drink hits right in the middle of the G in the word Guinness on the glass.

Before taking her first sip, Jenna announced “Make my mom proud, Laura this is for you.” Despite starting off confident, the beer got the best of Hager as it slipped out of the glass and splashed onto her dress. Deciding to play it cool, Jenna joked “I didn’t even make it!”
“Does anyone have a mop? Or a tarp we could put down?” her co-host Willie Geist said. “My body couldn’t take it. My body just rejected that,” Hager said.
“Unfortunately I ruined my nice green dress,” she added, saying that she thought she had “all the nice beer moves saved up.” Willie then took his turn, and although he was able to drink the beer without getting drenched, he was just a gulp away of successfully splitting the G.
“I just can’t believe someone could actually do that, that’s shocking to me,” Jenna added, still not over what happened to her.
“This is shocking to me, what I just witnessed,” Geist added.
