The Scots star was axed from her fifteen-year role on BBC Scotland after ‘three claims of misconduct against her were upheld’

Kaye Adams has revealed she wants to "get her life back on track"

Scots broadcaster Kaye Adams has admitted “it’s been a brutal five months” following her removal from her BBC Scotland radio show. The 63-year-old presenter, who also features on ITV’s Loose Women, was taken off air from her morning radio programme in October.

The move was reportedly made amid allegations concerning her behaviour. Kaye’s exit came after three claims of misconduct including throwing a pen and berating an intern over their professional ability, were upheld.

The Falkirk-born presenter was also alleged to have sworn at a colleague. BBC Scotland announced on Saturday that Adams would not be returning to her radio show, Mornings With. Kaye had been presenting the morning show for fifteen years, from 2010 to 2025 and has confessed she’s been struggling to adapt to life without it.

Speaking on the podcast How To Be 60 with Kaye Adams, she admitted: “It’s been a brutal five months, there’s no doubt about it. It’s hard I’m torn between not wanting to appear to ignore things but also I just don’t see a lot of point in saying much at this time. This is a time to process things, try and get life back on track.

“Try and get my mental health back on track. Try and get my eating back on track, my sleeping back on track and just my life back on track.”

She continued by praising her daughters, Charly and Bonnie, for being “so supportive” whilst acknowledging she hasn’t been as “present” for them, which she described as a “real sadness”.

She added: “They’re such amazing girls and they are so supportive of me and like you’re the mum, you’re the adult, it’s your job to look after them.

“I’m just so proud of (them), I’m so thankful to them.”

BBC Scotland confirmed that Adams would not be returning to the position and that the presenter line-up would remain unchanged for the time being.

A spokesman for BBC Scotland said: “With regard to the presentation line up on Mornings With, Kaye Adams will not be returning to this role.

“In the immediate future Connie McLaughlin will continue to present Mornings With on Mondays to Wednesdays, with Stephen Jardine presenting on Thursdays and Fridays.”

In October, Adams stated that her name had been “dragged through the mud” following her removal from her programme.

The BBC has remained silent on the reason for Adam’s exit.

She became part of BBC Scotland in 2010 and is also a frequent panellist on ITV’s Loose Women.
