Emmerdale favourite Mike Parr has shared a heartwarming personal update with fans—he and his girlfriend Isabelle Du Plessis are officially expecting their first child together. The beloved actor, who recently made a return to the ITV soap as fan-favourite bad boy Ross Barton, took to Instagram alongside Isabelle to reveal the joyous news in a tender and creative way.

The couple posted a series of stunning photos taken on a beach, showing them standing in a sunlit room overlooking the waves, with Isabelle lovingly cradling her blossoming baby bump. One particularly touching detail that captured the hearts of fans was the message written in the sand: “MJP IDP soon 2B3,” a sweet and subtle confirmation that the couple’s family is about to grow. The announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulations and love, as viewers and co-stars alike celebrated the new chapter for the happy pair.
“In our Mum & Dad Era,” their caption reads.
Plenty of Emmerdale co-stars past and present commented with congratulations, including Jay Kontzle, Anthony Quinlan, and Jamie Dorrington.

Heartstopper actor Bradley Riches, who recently made his Emmerdale debut as Ross’ brother Lewis, said: “Mum and dad are hella sexy.”

Parr recently spoke about how Ross is initially hesitant to open up to Lewis, but will soon let his guard down.
“You’ll see that the character is quite infectious and it’s hard for Ross to say no to him, because he is very pure and it reminds him of Finn,” he said.
“It’s been nice for Ross to have somebody on his side, because he was starting to think that he was the touch of death. Everybody he gets close to seems to get killed off. He’s lost two girlfriends, four family members, and he’s had a lot of unlucky situations.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
