SIX YEARS A JOURNEY: Emmerdale’s Jeff Hordley makes SAD ANNOUNCEMENT

Jeff Hordley has been a firm favourite and recently celebrated his 25th anniversary on the ITV soap. Joining Emmerdale back in 2000 the Yorkshire Dales soap star, 55, recalled a fond memory when he quit the soap temporarily in 2006 but returned four years later. In an unearthed interview, the actor, who is married to fellow co-star Zoe Henry, revisited the dramatic scenes which aired for his exit. The soap star worked alongside former Dales star Patsy Kensit (who played Sadie King). Their characters were often at odds, with Sadie using Cain in her schemes to gain power within the King family. One notable storyline involved them plotting to kidnap Tom King and demanding a £5 million ransom.

Their chaotic on-screen partnership and the characters’ storyline culminated in their dramatic exit from the show in 2006. “I did six years and I left the show and I was given the story with Patsy Kensit’s character to leave the show,” he recalled to Eastieoaks.com in 2022. “We double crossed the Kings and got millions of pounds from them and then we were to fly off in an aeroplane and steal the money but right at the end Cain double crosses Sadie and pushes her out of the plane and just flies off.”

Jeff added: “We had to do shots of me in the plane and on the ground and flying over the Dingles and to have done six years in this brilliant show and to get to see this beautiful countryside that I’ve been working on from an aerial view was the best way to finish my first six years on Emmerdale.”

They devised a plan to kidnap Tom but in the end, the Dingle bad boy double-crossed Sadie.

He left the village in a small plane with £2 million while Sadie was left driving away in a BMW.

Jeff returned to his beloved role in 2009 and is currently at the centre of an explosive storyline.

Cain hurt Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) in this week’s episode of Emmerdale, following a major development about Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) k!ller.

On Tuesday, DS Walsh told Cain and Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) that Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) had confessed to k!lling Nate. Understandably, the news knocked them both.

However, we know of course, that none of this is true. Last Friday, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) found Owen unconscious in his house.

Meanwhile, Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is on a mission, as he remains determined next week to prove his distant brother John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) is bad news.
