Emmerdale is lining up some emotional scenes on the ITV soap over January, from the fallout to Home Farm Christmas drama to a discovery amid April Windsor’s disappearance

The New Year remains chaotic and sad on Emmerdale according to new spoilers ahead of next month.
The fallout to teenager April Windsor’s disappearance continues, leading to more upset for her father Marlon Dingle. There’s the fallout to Joe Tate’s shocking return this Christmas, and the events at Home Farm with Will Taylor’s sad demise.
Jacob Gallagher finds himself torn between his new pals and his new love interest Sarah Sugden. Meanwhile there’s trouble for Rhona Goskirk, with something amiss.
Let’s kick off with the drama following April’s disappearance on Christmas Day. After acting out and rebelling, she suddenly vanished without a trace over the festive period. Marlon has desperately searched for the 15 year old, but as January continues she still has not been found.
Marlon is at a loss, and is soon encouraged to use social media for help. Marlon films a video appealing for his daughter to return home, and asking anyone with information to come forward.
But it doesn’t go to plan after the clip goes viral, and some nasty social media users begin trolling underneath the post. Marlon is left regretting filming the video and contemplates deleting it completely.
But as the online aggression continues Marlon put his foot down, with the support of wife Rhona. He decides to fight back by leaving it online – but will April be found?

That said there’s more drama for the family as Rhona is still upset with Marlon. Her mother Mary encourages her to sort things with her husband, amid April being missing.
Soon Marlon’s ex Laurel Thomas is involved, and Mary is having words with her – leaving Marlon furious. It seems Laurel has done something that’s caused the drama between Rhona and Marlon, but will the couple manage to unite?
Also next month there’s the fallout to Will’s sudden d3ath from a heart att@ck at Christmas. Characters are in mourning, while Kim’s still covering up what went down. Dawn is suspicious about Joe’s reasons for sticking around, and soon they clash.
It’s revealed Will died from natural causes, but when Dawn discovers a USB hidden in Will’s belongings marked for her attention she’s left intrigued. It seems to have been filmed in case of his d3ath, where he accuses Kim of being behind it.
As the day of the funeral arrives, Dawn interrupts grieving Kim’s eulogy for her husband and accuses her of k!ll!ng him. An argument ensues when Kim denies this and is told about the video.
Dawn pushes Kim into Will’s coffin and storms out. Just as Kim hopes she’s convinced Dawn nothing happened, she’s shocked when the police arrive to see her after a call from her stepdaughter.

Elsewhere, and things turn sour between new love interests Jacob Gallagher and Sarah Sugden. After she ends up being admitted to A&E drunk prior to this, it causes drama between her and Jacob thanks to his new pals from the hospital.
The medical student is stressed and overwhelmed with the pressures from his new placement at A&E, but takes comfort from socialising with his fellow students. Things get awkward though when he spends less time with Sarah leaving her feeling left out.
Not only that but they soon mock her when they realise she was the patient brought in drunk recently, and Jacob is left feeling guilty about their reactions to her. Jacob apologises to Sarah and soon the pair seem to be back on track.
One thing leads to another and they spend the night together, but will more trouble come their way? Elsewhere, Arthur struggles with his homework and gets some unexpected help from Anthony Fox – but should Arthur be careful after Anthony’s dark secret was recently exposed?
