Queen Cɑmillɑ once cheekily dismissed Princess Kɑte’s “influencer-style” video of her family in Norfolk, when she announced she had finished her chemotherapy. The Princess of Wales released a video in September 2024, saying she had “finally completed” her chemotherapy treatment after notifying the public she was diagnosed with cancer in March of that year.
Columnist Sarah Vine, wrote in the Daily Mail that the footage had reminded Cɑmillɑ of a “shampoo commercial”. She wrote: “..after watching last year’s rather syrupy video of the Waleses frolicking in the wilds of Norfolk the Queen – having first expressed her relief that the Princess’s cancer treatment had been successful – then quipped that it reminded her of a ‘shampoo commercial’.”
Ms Vine writes how the Queen’s “witty” comment, “wouldn’t have been said to wound, but to amuse. To put people at their ease. To lighten the mood.”

The three-minute-long video narrated by Princess Kate stated she had a “renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life”.
She added: “William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling. To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, can come light, so let that light shine bright.”
The video, filmed by Will Warr, was meant to show how she has drawn strength from her family and loved ones, and on spending time on the things which bring her joy, including spending time in the outdoors.

Next week, Princess Kate will help lead the nation in remembrance at a major event. Kensington Palace revealed that Kate will visit the National Memorial arboretum in Staffordshire for a service of remembrance to mark armistice Day next Tuesday.
The princess will attend the service at the armed Forces Memorial as it leads the nation in commemoration on November 11.
There she will lay a wreath and take part in the national two-minute silence at 11am.
It comes after the King and Queen and other members of the Royal Family will attend the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal albert Hall on Saturday night as well as the annual Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph on Sunday morning.
