Emmerdale is set to unleash fresh chaos on the village next week, as Moira Dingle uncovers a potentially catastrophic problem at Butler’s Farm — a serious leak in the slurry tank. The discovery sends shockwaves through the farming community, raising concerns about environmental damage and safety. As word of the leak quickly spreads, suspicion falls squarely on Mackenzie Boyd, who finds himself under intense scrutiny. While Mack struggles to defend his reputation and prove his innocence, scheming John Sugden watches from the sidelines with smug satisfaction, relishing every moment of his rival’s public humiliation.

The smile is soon wiped from his face though, when Cain Dingle reports that the slurry has contaminated the village’s main water supply…

“Things keep getting worse and worse for Mack. Not only is he full of hatred for John – his best friend’s fiancé – but now he’s full of shame too,” our Emmerdale source shares.

“After spending so much time on Butler’s Farm, you would think that he knows all the safety procedures like the back of his hand.

“Could it be that his feelings of anger towards John are playing havoc with his mind? Or is there something else going on?

“Whatever it is, Mack has plenty of explaining to do, and he better hope that the problem is resolved sooner rather than later…”

Unfortunately, the situation only worsens, as it turns out that Victoria Sugden’s young son Harry has consumed the water and needs urgent medical attention.

As the ambulance pulls up in the village, how will Mack cope with his guilt? And will John take the chance to pounce on his rival while he’s down?

Speaking about his character’s big feud, Lawrence Robb – who plays Mackenzie – recently told us: “Mack is best friends with Aaron so there’s an element of protective behaviour from him here. He’s never really seen eye-to-eye with John ever since he arrived in the village.

“I remember that in one of John’s first episodes, Mack tried to attack John with Nate – but John, with his army training, made it clear that that wasn’t going to happen. So from the start, Mack has never really warmed to him, and he definitely doesn’t want to see his mate get hurt by someone he feels he can’t trust.”

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday 15 May and Friday 16 May on ITV1 and ITVX.
