The Kansas City Chiefs are having some problems getting to Denver for tomorrow’s game against the Broncos.
The defending champions are scheduled to play their final regular-season fixture against their AFC West rivals; however, they remain in KC despite plans to touch down in Denver at 3:00 PM on Saturday afternoon.
The Kansas City International Airport has shut down following a blizzard warning being issued, with heavy snowfall expected, leaving the team “stranded.”
“Due to the airport being closed, Chiefs plane stranded as of now,” CBS reporter Tracy Wolfson tweeted. “They were set to arrive at 3. #Chiefs.”
Kansas City Chiefs To Rest Star Players?
The team is now facing criticism over its travel planning, with many suggesting they could have done a lot better, given that such conditions have been expected for a while.
Meanwhile, there has been some speculation over whether head coach Andy Reid will rest key players such as Patrick Mahomes ahead of the playoffs. But the head coach will only be concerned about getting to Denver right now.
