She Reveals She Wants To Work On A One Piece Movie

Megumi Ishitani is a very well-known director who worked on a few One Piece episodes, starting with 957. Fans know that whenever she works on an episode, chances are that it is going to be the anime episode of the year.
So far, she has only worked on the anime episodes of One Piece, for the most part, but based on what she mentioned recently in a new interview, she wants to work on a One Piece movie. Here’s what she had to say when she was asked about her future developments and goals regarding One Piece:
“I don’t think about the future, but I always treat my work now as my legacy. However, if there is still an opportunity for me, I am very interested in working on a movie version. Although I have always been fascinated by participating in the work for a movie version, I have never had the opportunity to yet. I want to try to make a full-length work.” — Megumi Ishitani

Will Fans Get a New One Piece Movie

The last One Piece movie, One Piece Film Red, was released back in 2022. One Piece: Film Red was a huge success at the box office, becoming one of the highest-grossing Japanese movies of all time. With how popular One Piece has especially been right now worldwide, dropping a movie would only make sense.
It took around 3 years for a new movie to be released following Film Gold, and also Stampede. So, based on that, now is the time for a new One Piece movie.
