SAD NEWS: Lorraine Star Dr Amir Khan Shares HEARTBREAKING ANNOUNCEMENT About His Family
Lorraine star Dr Amir Khan was “relieved” as he shared an update on his mum’s brain tumour.
Earlier this month, Amir appeared on a special episode of Loose Women, titled Loose Doctors, where he offered viewers health guidance and expertise, alongside Dr Nighat Arif, Dr Zoe Williams, and Dr Hilary Jones.
During one heartfelt moment, the medics revealed personal health struggles that they or their loved ones have faced, with Amir disclosing the devastating news that his mum is battling an inoperable brain tumour.
“She was diagnosed, I think, a year or so ago. I think I’m going to get a bit emotional, actually!” he tearfully said.

Now, Amir has shared a positive update on his mum’s condition during an appearance on Wednesday’s (August 20) Lorraine.
Speaking live from Bradford, Amir updated host Ranvir Singh on the latest health news, as well as answering viewer questions.
Before the segment began, Ranvir said: “I just want to touch on Mama Khan. Your lovely mum, who you have been sharing with us, who’s been poorly, but you’ve got some good news.”
Amir revealed: “Yeah, for those of you who don’t know, Mama Khan has an inoperable brain tumour. She’s had it for a number of months now.
“It was pressing on one of her nerves, affecting her vision and her eyelid. So, she had five weeks of radiotherapy a few months ago and we were waiting for a scan.
“We got the scan results on Monday. It’s really good news, the tumour has shrunk by 2mm, which is great. It gives us more time and helps preserve her vision. So, we’re really relieved by that.”
Ranvir added: “We’re really happy for her and for you, too, because I know how worried [you’ve been]. Even as a doctor, you’re just a son, aren’t you?
“You’re worried about your mum, so we’re really happy for her here too, and for the whole family.”
