Jesy Nelson, 34, has shared an emotional update about her twin daughters, Ocean and Story, who are fighting a heartbreaking health battle. The singer, known for her time with Little Mix, revealed devastating news earlier this year – both of her babies have been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA1), a genetic condition that weakens muscles and affects the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord. This condition is severe, with life expectancy under two years without medical intervention.

Despite this, Jesy continues to be a warrior mom, sharing beautiful moments of her daughters on social media. In a heartwarming clip posted on Instagram, the twins can be seen in matching white hats, enjoying a stroll outside in their double pushchair. The video shows the babies with their feeding tubes in place, a reminder of the constant medical support they need.

Earlier this year, Jesy revealed the devastating news that both babies had been diagnosed with genetic neuromuscular disease, Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA1)

Jesy, who welcomed her premature daughters in May 2025, has been a fierce advocate for awareness around SMA1, campaigning for the NHS to add the disease to the standard heel prick test. She has gathered over 100,000 signatures, hoping to push for the test to be fast-tracked to help other babies get diagnosed earlier.

In her first Mother’s Day post, Jesy celebrated all the “superhuman” mothers, sharing her gratitude for the women who, like her, are raising children with disabilities. In a raw moment, she opened up about the emotional toll the twins’ health journey has taken on her, particularly when the specialized feeding chairs arrived, a constant reminder of the obstacles they face.
