KSI open to Conor McGregor boxing fight with Logan Paul clash in jeopardy
The YouTuber-turned-boxer is planning on a busy 2025 and has recently stunned the boxing community after calling out the former two-division UFC champion
YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI has seemingly thrown his hat into the ring to fight former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor.
KSI – real name Olajide William “JJ” Olatunji – took part in a few amateur boxing bouts in 2018 before turning pro a year later. The 31-year-old has been seen competing fairly regularly in the ring since. With a professional record of 4-1-1, his only defeat inside the squared-circle came in his last outing against Tommy Fury back in 2023.
The social media star was due to take on Slim and Anthony Taylor in a two-on-one boxing fight last year, but was forced to pull out of the clash due to injury. It’s now been over a year since fans have seen KSI in the ring and it seems as if he’s planning on a busy 2025. Recently, rumours began to circulate claiming that he could step in for his Prime business partner, Logan Paul, and take on McGregor.
On Wednesday evening, the YouTuber then confirmed the news in a post uploaded to social media. He wrote: “Not rumoured. I’m very down.” The 31-year-old then shared a fake promotional fight poster which features himself and McGregor. He wrote a caption alongside which read: “Let’s make this happen @TheNotoriousMMA.”
KSI’s comments came soon after close friend Logan seemingly committed his future to WWE. The 29-year-old was in attendance for the WWE’s debut show on Netflix last night, but didn’t have a match. However, he did open up on his future. While he wasn’t in action, ‘The Maverick’ had a pre-taped promo – where he revealed he’s determined to become a WWE ‘superstar.’
“But you know what really must keep you up at night? I’ve been so good at this,” he said. “And now, I’m dedicating my life to this. No more side hustle. No more bulls***. 100 per cent WWE superstar. This is the beginning of the era of Logan Paul!”
Many were left stunned by his ambitions in the sport after recently claiming to have retired from WWE after becoming a father. “I’m retired,” he said on his own Impaulsive podcast. The 29-year-old was then asked about his plans for WrestleMania 41 – with the American responding: “Come on, I’m retired. I’m a dad, bro.”
Despite Paul’s eagerness to remain loyal to the WWE, it would appear McGregor is still hoping to go glove-to-glove with ‘The Maverick’ this year. The Irishman recently took to X – formerly known as Twitter – and issued a strong message to Paul. He posted a photo of the WWE star during a wrestling appearance, captioning it: $250,000,000. #ImComing,” along with an emoji of the Indian flag.
Should the clash with Paul completely fall apart, the American’s younger brother Jake would no doubt be open to a clash with the MMA icon. ‘The Problem Child’ has taken many swipes at McGregor over the years. In a recent post uploaded to X, the 27-year-old revealed the only way a clash between the two stars would ever happen.
“Now it all makes sense why Conor McGregor and his management team have been desperately trying to get MVP to negotiate for a fight between us,” he wrote. “As we told them them privately and I’m now saying it publicly…the only way we’re willing to explore me vs Conor in a pro boxing / MMA fight is if Dana White / UFC are at the table directly or make it clear they are ok with discussions. Conor is washed. Needs the Paul’s. Logan by however he wants.”
