Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is set to lose his final honour just weeks after he was stripped of all his royal titles, styles and honours. The former prince, who now goes by the name Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has had one of the biggest royal downfalls most of us have ever seen, and it seems it is not yet over.
This is because it has been revealed tonight that the former Duke of York could lose the honour of holding the Freedom of the City of London – one of the world’s oldest civic honours. The honour gives people the right to drive sheep across London Bridge and carry a ceremonial sword.
It is believed Andrew has the honour as his father Prince Philip was also a Freeman of the City of London – an honour also held by the likes of a few famous faces, including Sir David Beckham.

The Sun exclusively revealed on Friday that a spokesman for the City of London Corporation said: “Andrew received the honour by virtue of patrimony, which is inherited as the child of a Freeman.
“Applications via patrimony are not considered by our elected members.
“The City Corporation is listening, and will continue to listen, to concerns raised.
“And it will carefully consider the rules that govern how a Freedom is given — and the circumstances in which, and procedure by which, it can be removed.”

While losing this honour is unlikely to have a massive impact on Andrew, it is just the latest humiliation the King’s brother may face.
This is because over the last few weeks, Andrew has not only lost his royal titles, but his royal home Royal Lodge too. Instead, Andrew, 65, will be moved to a property on King Charles’ private Sandringham estate.
All these losses Andrew is facing in regard to his titles and royal home are the result of scandals surrounding the former prince’s past friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew has always denied any accusations against him.
