Caitlin Clark would love to do nothing but play basketball, but it seems that people will not let her be.
Aside from the social media talk about her, Indiana Fever has also had to deal with a crazed man who tried to insert himself into her life.
A 55-year-old Texas man was arrested in Indianapolis for allegedly sending threats and sexually explicit messages to the WNBA star. 55-year-old Michael Lewis from Texas, was arrested on Sunday at a hotel in Indianapolis, the city where Clark’s team Indiana Fever is based.
Prosecutors charged Michael Lewis of Denton, Texas, with felony stalking.
Law enforcement officials identified messages sent to Caitlin Clark from Lewis on X that allegedly contained threatening and sexually explicit messages.
According to court documents, one of the messages allegedly sent to Clark read: “@CaitlinClark22 been driving around your house 3x a day..but don’t call the law just yet, the publc is allowed to drive by gainbridge..aka Caitlin’s Fieldhouse.”
Fans took to social media and sent prayers to Clark:
“in the last month – two middle-aged men have been arrested for stalking Caitlin Clark & Paige Bueckers. Two growing icons for Women’s sports. A sad and scary world we live in,” one fan said.
“Put him in jail and throw away the key,” another fan added.
“Cops usually don’t take action for stalkers until after something happens. Good they took action before,” a third fan stated.
“Glad they caught the guy. About 10 celebrities in Hollywood got killed by stalkers over the years,” another X user added.
“It’s crucial that such cases are taken seriously, and authorities act swiftly to ensure safety,” one final said on the situation involving Caitlin Clark.
Lewis is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning and, if convicted, could face up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Caitlin Clark Says She Was Fearful
A Texas man sent sexually violent messages from his X account to Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark.
Michael Thomas Lewis of Denton, Texas, is charged with one count of stalking, threatening sexual battery or death, a Level 5 felony.
Police interviewed the WNBA’s rookie of the year, and she revealed that she “has been very fearful since learning of the messages and that she has altered her public appearances and patterns of movement due to fear for her safety.”
New Orleans Pelicans Stun The NBA By Trading Superstar Brandon Ingram To NBA Heavyweight In Blockbuster Trade Proposal

With the New Orleans Pelicans enduring another tremendously disappointing season, star big man Brandon Ingram is another name to follow in the trade rumor mill.
The Pelicans enter Thursday as the worst team in the Western Conference (5-22), with only the Washington Wizards (3-21) displaying an inferior record. It’s clear that a rebuild is necessary in NOLA, and that would start with trading core players like Brandon Ingram and/or Zion Williamson.
Svyatoslav Rovenchuk of Athlon Sports recently proposed a blockbuster trade idea that has New Orleans trading Ingram and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl to the powerhouse Golden State Warriors in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga, Gary Payton II, Kevon Looney and De’Anthony Melton:
“The swap allows the Warriors to add another All-Star caliber player around Curry. Meanwhile, the Pelicans land a worthwhile young prospect and a handful of expiring contracts. One could argue that Golden State would need to add some sort of draft pick compensation too, but given Ingram’s modest value, Kuminga may offer more than enough appeal to not have to do so.”
