Denise Richards knew that appearing on the FOX reality show Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test would push her like nothing she had ever experienced.
Unfortunately for her, Richards revealed she “ruptured” her breast implants while filming the third season.
The FOX reality television show, which puts celebrities in a position to perform tests and training exercises of the U.S. Special Forces, is designed to be the toughest around, and Richards found out the hard way.
The 53-year-old ruptured both of her breast implants while jumping off a bridge on the show.
Denise Richards detailed to Entertainment Weekly that she was actually dealing with multiple injuries, which ultimately caused her to withdraw from competition.
“So I had four hernias… repaired a couple years [ago] actually when I did Housewives,” Richards said. “Also with that harness [on the bridge jump], because it’s around that area and then also over our chest, we thought that that was damaged too… But that’s all good. I had swelling in the area, but it went down, and I didn’t need surgery again.”
Richards actually wanted to stay on the show, but doctors told her that it was not a good idea.
“I wanted to see a doctor, and I wanted to make sure that I was okay to continue with the weight and doing stuff,” Richards said. “I wanted to make sure I didn’t damage the hernias. I knew the implants, and that was something I knew I could still continue [with]. I was too embarrassed to even say anything about those. But it was where I had my surgery before with my hernias that I wanted to make sure.”
Back in 2011, Richards stated she regretted getting her breasts augmented at age 19.
In 2023, she said she tried to stop her daughter from going down that same road and getting her breasts done at 19.
“I was made fun of as a teenager [because my boobs] were mosquito bites,” she told Bustle. “I got them done at the same age Sami is wanting to get them done.”
“I’m trying to talk her out of it because, and the reason why I’m getting them out, is I didn’t know how toxic [they are] when I was 19. And it’s not an easy surgery. It’s painful!”
Denise Richards Speaks On What She Plans To Do After Rupturing Her Breast Implants
Denise Richards’ time is up on Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, but it did not go without her suffering an injury.
The actress and TV personality revealed even before the third season of the Fox reality series debuted that she ruptured her breast implants on the show by jumping off a bridge.
The Drop Dead Gorgeous alum stated wearing a harness during one of the difficult stunts harmed her cosmetically enhanced boobs.
Now, Denise Richards plans on getting them redone since she was unable to while on the show.
“I still have to get them redone,” she added. “I was supposed to a month ago, but couldn’t because we were filming. So I still have to get them redone.”
She also added she would be paying for the plastic surgery bill, adding, “I think we pretty much signed our life away doing that show… It’s dangerous.”

Ryan Caldwell, the Philadelphia Eagles fan who went viral for cruelly verbally abusing Green Bay Packers fan Ally Keller during Sunday’s Wild Card Round game, has broken his silence on the incident.
Keller attended the game at Lincoln Financial Field with her fiancé, Alexander Basara. The latter shared a viral video of Ryan Caldwell verbally abusing Keller and using derogatory language towards her.
The Eagles have since announced that Caldwell has received a lifetime ban from home games. He was also fired from his job as a project manager at the BCT Partners consulting firm.
Speaking to Jenna Lemoncelli of the New York Post, Ryan Caldwell expressed remorse for his actions and apologized to Keller. He also claims that the video shared by Basara doesn’t provide the entire “context” of their verbal altercation:
“While attending an NFL game last Sunday to support my beloved Philadelphia Eagles, an incident occurred that I deeply regret. What began as banter with two Packers fans sitting near me escalated to something more serious, and I said things that were unacceptable. In the heat of the moment, I chose unforgiving words to address one of the fans, Ms. Ally Keller.
I want to sincerely apologize to Ms. Keller for those words, and to my wife, family, and friends, my former employer and colleagues, Packer fans, Eagle fans, the Philadelphia Eagles, the City of Philadelphia, and all who were offended.
That said, there are two sides to every story. The video clip circulating online does not reflect the full context of what transpired, and my actions were not without provocation. I will live with this experience, and I am certainly paying a personal price. For those who don’t know me, this incident does not reflect my values or the respect I have for others and is not indicative of the person I am.”
