Caleb demands answers after an unexpected discovery is made (Picture: ITV)
Emmerdale’s Caleb Miligan (William Ash) demand answers from Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) next week when he makes an unexpected discovery, with the truth about Anthony (Nicholas Day) set to follow.
Ruby, as viewers know, was s.e.x.u.a.l.l.y abused when she was a child by her father Anthony, who recently walked back into her life after decades.
Anthony’s comeback has left Ruby on edge, particularly because she fears that the abuser could be Steph’s (Georgia Jay) biological father.
Following a brave conversation with Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), Ruby vowed to get answers and thus she ordered a DNA testing kit, hoping that such a thing will quell her fears and prove that Caleb is Steph’s father.
The results are in next week, with Ruby on tenterhooks, anxious about what awaits inside the envelope. After a sleepless night, the matriarch decides it’s time for answers as she rips open the results.
Before she can read them, however, Steph comes downstairs. Ruby hides the contents of the envelope and races over to the pub to speak to Chas, hoping for some advice on what to do.
Chas is quick to offer support, reassuring Ruby that Caleb won’t turn his back on Steph, regardless of whether she’s his biological father or not.
Ruby is given food for thought and she ultimately decides to destroy the results, thinking that it’s the best option all round.

Before she can do so, however, Caleb finds the envelope of the DNA testing kit while hunting for p.a.i.n.k.i.l.l.e.r’s in his wife’s bag.
He opens said envelope and holds the results in his hand – just as Ruby walks through the door. The question is: will Steph prove to be his daughter?

Either way, Ruby is forced to explain the situation. But will she reveal the reason why she needed to find out who Steph’s father is? Will her ordeal be revealed?
And will Chas also work out who Ruby reckons Steph’s father might be?
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX.
