Imagine being at the top of your basketball career, and people are living to see you retire. This does not sound anywhere related to Stephen Curry, but it is. After the Golden State Warriors lost to the Toronto Raptors, head coach Darko Rajakovic opened up.
During the postgame press conference, Rajakovic humorously confessed that he can’t wait for the day Curry retires. After leading the Raptors to a 104-101 win over the Bay Area team, Darko seemed to be in full swing while making an honest confession.
“Steph Curry is a play that it’s a privilege for all of us to live in an era and to work in this era in the NBA when he is playing,” Rajakovic said. “I just told my coaching staff I’ve been playing against him for a long, long time. I can’t wait for him to retire. I’m going to get drunk that night, I promise you that. I’m going to celebrate,” he added.
Although it was honest of him to make the open admission. Throughout his coaching journey, Rajakovic has had many encounters with Curry. And now we can assume that it has kept him on his toes. As an assistant coach for the Oklahoma City Thunder, he faced Curry during the infamous 3-1 playoff comeback in 2016.
He met Curry again while coaching the Memphis Grizzlies in 2022. The two-time MVP has consistently posed challenges. However, since taking the helm with the Raptors in 2023, Rajakovic has found some success against Curry. He has a record of 1-2 in their matchups while managing to keep the scoring in check.
Stephen Curry Opened Up About His Inspiration
The Warriors star Stephen Curry is recognized as one of the greatest shooters in NBA history. Recently, he opened up about the inspiration he draws from soccer legend Lionel Messi. When asked about the influence of athletes from different sports, Curry emphasized that greatness transcends all.
“Greatness inspires greatness in a lot of ways It’s not like there’s anything particular you can apply between soccer and basketball but just the longevity, the creativity, the impact on sports around the world. You appreciate greatness for sure and it inspires you to keep going and do it your way. I obviously have the utmost respect for how he carries himself on and off the pitch,” Curry said.
Despite facing challenges this season, Curry is still keeping up his exceptional shooting ability. He is currently averaging 41.1% shooting from three-point range. He remains a pivotal figure for the Warriors. The team is looking to turn their season around after a rocky stretch.

While the fate of UFC 311 remains unclear due to the Palisades wildfire in Los Angeles, Arman Tsarukyan makes a massive statement ahead of his main event fight against Islam Makhachev.
In a recent interview on the Pound 4 Pound YouTube channel, the young Armenian fighter claimed that he hasn’t been chasing money. Instead, he wants to build a legacy after winning the UFC Lightweight Championship from Makhachev.
“When I win the title, the sports thing is done. It’s gonna start [being] just a business. And I’m gonna pick with who UFC pays me more, I’m gonna fight, doesn’t matter who it’s gonna,” said Arman Tsarukyan and added, “After this fight, when I’m the champion, I’m gonna only think about money not to be like two-time champion or like defend ten times, I’m just gonna think of, like, money fights.”
Although Tsarukyan’s statement seems bold and confident fans didn’t actually have a similar opinion on the same. They went into the comments and had multiple things to say about the Armenian fighter’s claims.
