Christian McCaffrey’s father, Ed, has confirmed the family is no longer boycotting Taylor Swift.

They made the ruthless decision to cut the popstar and her music from their lives in the weeks running up to last year’s Super Bowl.

McCaffrey, the star running back for the San Francisco 49ers, was set to play Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL’s biggest game.

But before the showdown in Las Vegas, McCaffrey’s mom, Lisa, made headlines when she vowed to boycott Swift’s music.

Speaking on the podcast of McCaffrey’s fiancée Olivia Culpo, Lisa said: ‘I refuse to listen to Taylor Swift songs for the next couple days.

‘I love her, I love the relationship, but we are boycotting any T. Swift songs. If she pops up on the radio station . . . nope. She’s dead to us this week.’

Swift and Kelce would go on to have the last laugh though, with the Chiefs winning 25-22 in an overtime thriller.

And now Ed, a former NFL player as well, has dismissed any notion there is lingering hostility towards the NFL’s most famous couple.

During a video interview with Fox News, he took the computer into their living room to show off just how much they love Swift.

He said: ‘In terms of being a fan of Taylor Swift, that (a Swift decoration) is in our house.

‘My wife Lisa has probably been one of the biggest Taylor Swift fans despite the fact that she’s dating Travis Kelce… and obviously the 49ers had to play them in the Super Bowl, Lisa is an incredible fan, she’s such a phenomenal artist.

‘I don’t know why that was such a big deal back then… I don’t even remember what it was about.

‘Just to put that matter to rest, we were fans long before she was dating Travis Kelce, and I don’t even remember what happened with the Super Bowl, but there are certainly no issues here in the McCaffrey family.’

Ed is now preparing to become a grandfather to McCaffrey and Culpo’s first child after they announced she was pregnant last month.

Meanwhile, Kelce’s mom Donna ignited speculation over baby news between her youngest son and Swift this week, days after becoming a grandmother for the fourth time.

Jason Kelce recently welcomed his fourth daughter, Finnley Anne, with wife Kylie and introduced Kansas City Chiefs star Travis to her over FaceTime when they were recording their latest New Heights episode together.

The heartwarming scenes went viral and Donna shared the emotional clip on her Facebook page, to which one of her friends commented: ‘Trav’s going to make a wonderful father, just like Jason!’

Donna, arguably the most famous mom in the NFL, responded with a love-heart emoji to the kind message.
