Yet according to royal author Daniela Elser, the Princess should not expect a quiet few months.
Writing for News.com.au, Elser warned that Harry and Meghan showed little sign of disappearing quietly into the British countryside.
“It does not appear the Sussexes have any plans to sit quietly in the shires to reclusively collect delphinium cuttings and rescue dogs,” she wrote.
Her blunt assessment was followed by a question that could make uncomfortable reading for the Palace:
“For Kate, what are the chances of Harry and Meghan’s off-brand royalling not stealing all the available thunder?”
The warning is clear.
Kate may have spent months carefully rebuilding her public role, but the Sussexes could now be preparing to dominate headlines all over again.
Harry’s busy UK schedule
Prince Harry is expected to undertake a series of engagements in Britain, ensuring that his name remains firmly in the news.
His Invictus Games project could provide another major source of attention, with the 2027 edition due to take place in Birmingham.
The event is particularly significant for Harry, whose involvement with the Games has become one of the defining elements of his post-royal public life.
And Meghan could also be preparing for a more visible return.
According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex is considering resuming charitable work in Britain — potentially giving the couple an increasingly prominent presence on the UK public stage.
That could create a very different royal landscape from the one Kate expected when she began rebuilding her working schedule.
Elser went as far as to declare: “Kate’s new working royal year is shaping up to be hell.”
‘An alternative court’
The most explosive warning, however, came from royal commentator Hugo Vickers.
Speaking about the Sussexes’ plans, Vickers suggested that increased public appearances could put Harry and Meghan into direct competition with the institution they once represented.
If the couple “intend to be public figures and carry out more of these appearances,” he warned, they could “inevitably be in competition with the royal family”.
His most striking description was that the Sussexes could effectively be “setting up an alternative court.”
“That is not a positive development,” Vickers added.
It is a prospect that could alarm supporters of the monarchy.
The Royal Family already operates with a relatively small group of working members, meaning every major engagement and headline can carry enormous weight.
If Harry and Meghan begin conducting a regular programme of appearances, charity work and high-profile events at the same time, the potential for competing narratives is obvious.

For Kate, the issue may therefore be less about a single event and more about the months ahead.
She has fought hard to return to public life on her own terms.
But Harry and Meghan’s reported plans could force the Princess into an unwanted battle for attention — one she may have hoped was firmly behind her.
After everything Kate has endured, the last thing she needs may be another royal storm.
And if Harry and Meghan really do establish themselves as increasingly visible “public figures” in Britain, the Palace could soon face a question it has spent years trying to avoid:
