GB News’ Patrick Christys suffered a major blunder, which left him with a massive bruise on his forehead just hours before going live on air. On Tuesday (July 21), the dad-of-one took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share the hilarious reality of life as a new dad with his loyal legion of fans online. He explained that playing games with his young son left him with an unusual bruise, which has forced him to spend some time in the makeup chair.
The 34-year-old presenter, who is married to his co-star Emily Carver, left fans in stitches as he shared a snap of a green suction toy and a selfie of his purple heart-shaped bruise. He penned: “I realised I could make my 10-month-old son laugh if I stuck a green toy to my head and then ripped it off.
“Did it solidly for about five minutes… then I looked in the mirror. Probably worth it for the giggles, but I’m going to have to lay the makeup on thick tonight on GB News.” It didn’t take long for viewers to flock to the comments to poke fun at his blunder online.
One user penned: “I’m tuning in just to see the blob on your forehead. Oh, the conversations that’s going to be had with you trying to explain that one hahahahahaha.” Another added: “Parenting successful. Just continue to do random humiliating things for him for the next 15 years, and you’re sorted lol.”
A third revealed: “I did the same thing over 30 years ago with a pump sucker from a pair of Reebok trainers. Never lived it down! You’ll be using concealer for the next week [cry-laughing emoji].”

It comes after the broadcaster confronted a small-boat migrant live on air as he quizzed them about why they wanted to move to the UK. The TV host met up with one of the migrants who made the nail-biting commute across the English Channel on his late-night TV programme.

He told the broadcaster: “When we reached England, the English police came and got us, and we went to a hotel in London and spent around one or two weeks in that place, and then there were one or two weeks in the camp.”
When asked what his first impression of life in the UK was like, he gushed: “I like it very much. They are helping us; they provide everything that we need. It is a really good area, but unfortunately, some small people don’t like us. We are very happy we are here.
“My first decision was the UK, the UK government, the language is really good, and also I’m a professional MMA fighter, and in this country I have a lot of chances to improve myself and improve my abilities.”
Fans soon took to social media to share their frustration about the rising number of immigrants arriving in the UK. One user penned: “Absolute joke, imagine breaking into a country illegally and getting treated like royalty.” Another agreed: “Just giving away houses to people that arrive here illegally is just outrageous. We really are being taken for mugs.”
A third chimed in with: “This has left me raging. Shabana Mahmood, Keir Starmer and the Labour Government, you have betrayed the people you serve in the worst possible way; you all belong in jail.”
