TV viewers Stunned as Britain’s Got Talent moves the New Pope – What Really Happened?
The newly elected Pope Leo XIV has previously expressed his love for Britain’s Got Talent.
Named Robert Francis Prevost, the 69-year-old new Pope has made headlines with his quirks and mixture of tradition and modern nuances.
Now another interesting tale about the Pointiff has been shared by Father George Donaghy who met Pope Leo in America back in the Nineties, according to the BBC.
The Augustinian Friar also resided near the Pope in Rome for some time and told the broadcaster how he had a ‘good sense of humour’.
Father Donaghy said: ‘He preached on when Susan Boyle was in Britain’s Got Talent and he saw her on that, so he’s a very down to earth guy, he’s very in tune with the world.’
Susan, 64, took to the ITV stage back in 2009 and wowed with her legendary performance of I Dreamed a Dream in her audition.

BGT’s Susan Boyle pays tribute to late Pope Francis on Instagram
The episode was viewed by over 10 million people, drawing praise from the musical’s producer, Cameron Mackintosh, and Susan’s idol, Elaine Paige.
She performed another musical number in her semi-final, Memory from Cats, and won the public vote.
Despite being the final’s strong favourite, Susan lost out in second place to dance troupe Diversity in a final watched by 17.3 million viewers.
Though she fell at the final hurdle in that competition, she still went on to have a UK number one album that year, and has released a further six studio albums.
After a spell under the radar, Susan returned to 2023’s Britain’s Got Talent finale, and revealed she had suffered a stroke a year earlier which left her worried she would never perform again.
Susan also charmed another pope – performing for Pope Francis in 2019.
Last month, she paid a heartfelt tribute when he passed away.
She posted a video of her sat down, sharing a personal message in memory of the late Pope.
Susan said performing for him was the ‘honour and privilege of her life’ as she described him as a ‘man for all seasons’.
