ITV’s This Morning viewers threatened to ‘switch off’ before the ending of the show on Wednesday after some found a segment about childbirth ‘too much’.
At the end of the show, Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley spoke to a guest about ‘0rgasmic births’. Speaking on her second birth, guest Lisa called it “ecstatic.” She continued: “It’s hard to put words on it but maybe like a cosmic 0rgasm, or an energy 0rgasm. It was a totally ecstatic state, but not a psychical 0rgasm.”

She then went on to explain that she didn’t “use the stimulation of any intimate parts” during her second birth due to her daughter and mother-in-law being in the room. However, it was a different story for her third as she admitted to performing ‘intimate stimulation’ with the help of her partner.
Midwife Marley Hall was then asked if she had ever experienced any of her patients having an 0rgasm during birth during her 16 years in the industry, to which she responded: “Not that they’ve told me.” She then revealed that a few patients had admitted to it afterwards during a home visit.
Despite never witnessing or barely hearing about it, Marley said that it may be due to shame that not many people admit to it. Asked on her thoughts on Lisa’s revelation, she explained that it was an increase in oxytocin, which can help reduce the sensation of pain for some people.

Ben then addressed the fact viewers may find it “inappropriate,” to which Lisa responded: “It is a taboo topic, but I think we need to remember that birth is part of the female sexuality as the same way as menstruation is,” before claiming “giving birth was sexual.”
However, viewers refused to watch the segment, as they said they were going to switch off. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one penned: “OMFG had to turn off,” while another said: “This is so not a suitable topic for lunchtime tv, I’m not at all prudish but ffs!” A third exclaimed: “Time to turn over,” while another agreed: “I’m off!”
It comes a day after the show was slammed for ‘scrapping the barrel’ as they welcomed guest Caroline, a 72-year-old who shared her life as an escort. Caroline, who had previously appeared on Olivia Attwood’s show, Filthy Rich went into detail during a previous story about her intimate life.
During the segment, one viewer tweeted: “I’m no prude, but is a 72 year old talking about o**l, really suitable for morning tv. #ThisMorning, while another penned: “Make it stop!” A third exclaimed: “WHAT ON EARTH HAS THIS SHOW BECOME!”
