SHOCKING REVELATION: THE SECRET BEHIND Savannah Guthrie’S DEPARTURE. Audiences were SHOCKED to learn the truth WAS NOT AS THEY KNEW.
NBC host Savannah Guthrie has announced that she will be taking some time away from hosting Today as she juggles her career.
The broadcast journalist and former attorney has said she is excited to focus on another passion as she announced she would be absent from the usual role, with the backing of her family and her co-stars.
Viewers will notice the absence of Savannah from their screens as she takes a break to go on a tour to promote her book. The mom-of-two took to Instagram to share the news with fans, posting a video message in which she outlined the upcoming book tour for her title: Mostly What God Does is Love You.
The tour will see her attending a string of dates in the midwest and on the east coast where she will be supported by a range of moderators, including husband Michael Feldman.
Savannah will make an appearance in Houston, Texas on February 20 before hitting up Illinois, Missouri, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and finishing up one week later in New York. The children’s picture book has been called a “beautiful companion to her #1 New York Times bestselling 2024 essay collection, Mostly What God Does.”
Outlining the concept behind the book, Savannah said, “We often tell our children how much we love them, but how different would our world be if we shared the simple truth that God loves them, too.
“This book is my way of sharing that message with the next generation so they grow up knowing how cherished they are and how, in turn, they can share that same love with others.”
Her work as an author is very close to her heart, and as is her subject matter of religion, she told Today.com. “It’s what makes me tick,” she explained. “It’s what makes me joyful. It’s what helps me navigate the world and stresses and disappointments and fears.”
Her first book on the subject was written because she felt the need in her life, she said. “I’m the person that needs to read it. And so I thought, if I do, then maybe others do, too.”
She has previously co-authored two children’s books but she said her busy schedule has always meant she was unable to accept follow-up projects. “I’ve always been so busy with the Today show and I’ve got little kids and I never really wanted to write anything,” she said.
