They believe runner-up Dressed Crab, aka Gregory Porter, should have taken the crown
She had been disguised as Pufferfish throughout her run on the show with the judges left in awe at her impressive vocals.
However, it quickly transpired that not all of those watching at home agreed with the result with many claiming one of her co-stars was “robbed” of the win.
Finishing in second place was Dressed Crab who was unmasked as jazz singer and Grammy Award winner, Gregory Porter.
After delivering stand-out performance on both the final night and throughout the contest, some unhappy fans felt he had been unjustly pipped to the post.
Taking to X to have their say after the show, one fuming fan said: “They robbed you Dressed Crab.”
Another added: “Gutted … wanted Dressed Crab to win.”
The comments continued to come in with another saying: “@GregoryPorter was robbed! Should’ve won #themaskedsingeruk.”
Before someone else chimed in to write: “Sorry, but now I really feel Gregory Porter was robbed.”
Most of the panel were able to correctly identify Gregory thanks to his unmistakable voice.
The 53-year-old has specifically twice won the Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Album – in 2014 and 2017.

In addition, the musician is also known for his recognisable newsboy-style cap.
However, this was not enough to beat Frozen actress Samantha Barks.
Speaking after she was unmasked, the star said to the panel: “I’ve had the best time, I’ve had the best time. Underneath the mask I’ve been smiling the whole time.”
Samantha, 34, rose to fame in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s BBC talent show I’d Do Anything.
