BREAKING: Strictly Star Makes Emotional Confession About Partner Ahead Of BBC Show Return
Former Strictly Come Dancing star La Voix has admitted it feels “like a real break-up” knowing professional partner Aljaž Škorjanec will soon be dancing with a new celebrity.
La Voix, who competed on the BBC show in 2025, became a firm favourite with viewers alongside Aljaž.
But with the 2026 series about to begin, the performer has confessed that seeing her former dance partner preparing for another season has stirred up unexpected emotions.
Speaking ahead of the new launch show, La Voix said the reality of being replaced by another celebrity partner was only just beginning to sink in.
“It really is hitting me,” she admitted.
“They’ve just filmed their new launch show now. Aljaž is preparing with a new partner. It feels like a real break-up that you never saw coming in a strange way.”
She added: “It’s an odd thing to experience.”
La Voix Sees Funny Side of Strictly Exit
Despite the bittersweet feelings, La Voix admitted there is one major advantage to no longer being part of the competition.
Instead of spending every Saturday night worrying about routines, costumes and live performances, she can finally enjoy the show from the comfort of her sofa.
“I’m not gonna lie. I’m gonna be really glad to be watching this at home with a vast amount of food on a Saturday night on my sofa,” she joked.
The performer added that she would not miss having to dance in heels and tights every week.
“It’s gonna be lovely to watch someone else go through the agony of learning a jive,” she laughed.
Her partnership with Aljaž became one of the memorable pairings of the 2025 series, making the transition into becoming a viewer again particularly strange.
La Voix Recalls Cheeky On-Air Moment
La Voix also looked back at one of her most memorable moments on the show, when she jokingly appeared to audition for a presenting job following news that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were leaving.
She revealed that producers had specifically asked contestants not to make the presenters’ departure a major talking point.
“They came in and they said: ‘Please don’t mention that Tess and Claudia are leaving. They don’t want the show to be about them. They want it to be about you guys,’” she recalled.
Contestants were apparently told not to mention the news immediately before or after their performances.
But La Voix quickly spotted what she considered a loophole.
When Claudia introduced a later section featuring her, La Voix seized the opportunity.
“I thought it was my chance because technically it’s not just before I dance, and it’s not after I dance. It’s a whole other section,” she explained.
“So I jumped in with that joke, and they all looked at me and said, ‘You have got a nerve’.”
Her response was typically mischievous.
“Well, don’t tell me not to do something because I’ll do it,” she laughed.
‘I Know What the Right Level of Chaos Is’
Although she enjoys pushing boundaries on television, La Voix insisted she understands where the limits are.
“I know not to offend people. I never swear. It’s always family orientated with me, so I know what the line is,” she said.
The performer hopes that approach will encourage more television producers to trust her with future opportunities.
She added that she believes she understands “the right level of chaos” needed to make entertaining television without going too far.
La Voix Heading to London Palladium
While her television profile has grown since Strictly, La Voix has not abandoned the stage.
She is preparing for her biggest theatre tour yet, La Voix Live, which will travel across the UK in spring 2027.
One of the dates will see her perform at the London Palladium, a venue she described as particularly special.
“I’m beyond excited,” she said.
La Voix explained that the theatre has long held personal meaning because of the legendary stars who have performed there.
She named Judy Garland, Liza Minnelli and Shirley Bassey among the performers who inspired her.
“I still cannot quite believe that I’m going to be stood there singing songs by Judy Garland and Shirley Bassey,” she said.
“To experience that same stage in that same setup is just going to be a real beautiful moment for me.”
For La Voix, leaving Strictly has brought mixed emotions.
Watching Aljaž dance with somebody else may feel like a “break-up”, but she is also enjoying the freedom of becoming a viewer again — while preparing for a major new chapter of her own on stage.
