GOOD Morning America’s Ginger Zee has admitted she’s emotional over the news that her longtime co-host is leaving the show.
The meteorologist shared her reaction to her co-host, Dr. Jennifer Ashton, departing from the program.

It was revealed on Thursday that Dr. Jen, 54, ABC’s chief medical correspondent since 2012, is stepping away to focus on other endeavors.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dr. Jen’s official last day is in June, when her contract ends.
“I kind of subscribe to the fact that when the universe sends you a message, you should listen to it,” the physician told the outlet.
Several of the TV star’s colleagues shared their support for her moving on, though Ginger, 43, confessed she was not exactly thrilled about the news.
After Dr. Jen’s announcement circulated on social media, Ginger reshared the post with a sad message for her friend.
“So happy for you @drjashton but crying for us,” the mom of two wrote.
Dr. Jen is a board-certified OB/GYN, obesity medicine specialist, and CEO of her recently launched wellness company Ajenda, which addresses the challenges of menopause health and weight management.
She also co-hosted GMA3: What You Need To Know since March 2020 and worked closely with Ginger.
Ginger has been with Dr. Jen throughout her run on GMA, as she joined the show in 2011.
Dr. Jen is one of numerous hosts who have left the network in recent years, including fired GMA3 co-hosts Amy Robach, 51, and TJ Holmes, 46.

Last month, fans were overjoyed when Ginger returned to her post after taking a hiatus.
She took a short break to focus on creating content to honor Earth Month, which happens in April.
After the broadcaster shared an update on Instagram of what she’s been working on, her followers flooded the comments.
“Ginger Zee we miss you I can’t wait to see what you have for Earth Day please be safe my friend,” one person wrote.

“Yay, I miss seeing you,” said another.
“Can’t wait to see all the information you will have for us! And will be excited too see you back!!” added a third.
Weeks earlier, Ginger again skipped her duties after falling ill with the flu.
She revealed her sickness in an Instagram post, sparking a slew of get well soon comments, including some from her co-workers.
Dr. Jen was one of them and gave Ginger some tips and remedies to help her feel better.
Fellow GMA meteorologist Sam Champion, 62, filled in for Ginger during her absences.
