Princess Catherine previously spoke of her niece just days after her birth in 2021. It has been reported that, despite the Sussexes’ move back to the UK, the Prince and Princess of Wales have yet to meet five-year-old Princess Lilibet.

It is believed that, although they are thought to have seen Prince Archie on a few occasions, Catherine and William have not met Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter. The young royal, who was named after the late Queen Elizabeth II, was born in California five years ago.

In the same month that Lilibet was born, in June 2021, Catherine was quizzed by reporters on whether she had met the newborn baby girl.

She replied: “No, I haven’t. No.”

The royal then added a sweet message for her niece: “I wish her all the very best.”

She also added a sweet six-word comment that she was looking forward to meeting Lilibet. She said: “I can’t wait to meet her,” adding, “because we haven’t yet… met her yet, so hopefully that will be soon.”

The couple are not thought to have seen Archie since the family lived in the US.

Despite not having met Lilibet, Catherine and William reportedly did send a gift to Meghan and Harry after their daughter’s birth.

In his book, William & Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, the Mirror’s royal editor Russell Myers penned: “As Harry and Meghan welcomed the birth of their daughter Lilibet on 4 June 2021, William and Catherine sent a gift and a card of congratulations – although that would be the extent of their contact.”

Meghan and Harry travelled to the UK in 2022 with their children for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They also visited the UK earlier this summer, just weeks before their move back to the UK last month.
