As tensions rumbled between Prince Harry and Prince William, Meghan Markle reportedly showed her frustration to her brother-in-law.

The Duchess of Sussex allegedly told William “get your finger out my face” during a “reconciliation” meeting after their honeymoon in 2018.

The tense conversation reportedly took place in William and Kate’s former Kensington Palace apartment, when Meghan had allegedly made the remark to the prince according to Royal author Tom Bower, in his new book titled “Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family”.

Harry and Meghan are the subject of the new book by the author Tom Bower, who has taken aim at the Sussexes in the first part of his serialisation.

Published by The Times, a large excerpt of the book has detailed numerous claims about the Duke and Duchess’s relationship with the Royal Family, as well as how they have navigated life since leaving the Firm and moving to California.

In the claim about Meghan’s remark to William, he wrote: “If you don’t mind, get your finger out of my face,’ Meghan Markle snapped at William. The teatime reconciliation meeting between the brothers and their wives had spun out of control. Sitting in the Cambridges’ recently redecorated 20-room Kensington Palace apartment, soon after the Sussexes returned from their honeymoon in June 2018, Harry watched the confrontation escalate.”

There were reported tensions between Meghan and Kate in the run up to the Sussex’s wedding, all documented by Harry in his book Spare. However a spokesperson for the Sussexes said Tom Bower’s upcoming novel has “crossed the line.” They said: “Mr Bower’s commentary has long crossed the line from criticism into fixation.

“This is someone who has publicly stated, ‘the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life,’ language that speaks for itself. He has made a career out of constructing ever more elaborate theories about people he does not know and has never met. Those interested in facts will look elsewhere; those seeking deranged conspiracy and melodrama know exactly where to find him.”

Tensions between Meghan and Kate reportedly started in the run up to the wedding, as Harry noted in Spare that his wife had upset Kate. He claimed a conversation took place during a phone call about wedding rehearsals. When Kate told Meghan that she had forgotten something amid the planning, Meghan reportedly told Kate that she had “baby brain”.

Harry claimed his brother “reprimanded” Meghan over the “triggering” comments and said William pointed a finger at Meghan and told her that her “rude” remark fell short of royal protocol. Harry claimed that his sister-in-law was left distraught by Meghan’s remark, arguing that the two women weren’t close enough to discuss Kate’s hormones.

At the time, Princess Kate, who suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition caused by hormone imbalance, had recently given birth to Louis. The Duke of Sussex alleged that the comment sparked a mini-feud between the two ladies, resulting in Meghan crying.
