ROYAL B0MBSHELL: GB News leaves fans stunned with a huge Princess of Wales update
Princess Catherine is set to undertake her first royal tour in three years.

GB News royal correspondent Cameron Walker has given a huge update on the Princess of Wales recently anounced solo trip to Italy. Walker, who will be covering the tour for the broadcaster from Italy, appeared on GB News Breakfast to tell hosts Ellie Costello and Alex Armstrong what to expect from the engagement. Catherine will visit the city of Reggio Emilia in northern Italy from May 13-14 where she will spend time with educators, parents, children and business leaders.
“It is three and a half years since her last official overseas visit with the Prince of Wales for Earth Shot in Boston in 2022 and she’s going alone, and she’s focusing on one of her passions, which is early childhood development,” he explained. “Of course, she, for the last decade or so has been trying to highlight the fact that a number of big society’s biggest issues, mental health, addiction for drug and alcohol, crime, family breakdowns, the root cause of that, according scientific research, is a poor first five years of a child’s life. So that’s what she’s been highlighting through her Centre for Early Childhood Development.”
He continued: “Today, she is launching a new kind of guidelines called Foundations for Life to help practitioners, teachers, parents and people who work with young children try and help those young children throughout the UK.
“But what’s happening in Italy next week – to coincide with what the princess is announcing today, she’s written a foreword in which she says: ‘A world which feels increasingly distracted, fragmented and digital, it is more important than ever to invest in what truly helps us to thrive, which is human connection’. And that is something that Reggio Emilia, the northern Italian city, has been working on since the end of the Second World War in 1945. Basically allowing young children to explore their surroundings in nature with those human connections.
“Because digitally, of course, we have seen statistics show, according to the latest study, that around 70% of children under the age of two in the United Kingdom use screens daily, some of which up to eight hours a day, which far exceeds the recommended one hour a day, according to the World Health organisations, which is leading to all these sorts of problems.
“So the princess really, especially over the last year, she wrote an essay last year about this, has been really emphasising the dangers of too much screen time and getting away from those human connections and the power of nature. So that’s what she’s hoping to highlight. And by going to Italy, it’s about collaboration on a global stage when it comes to this issue,” he explained.

Clarifying what she hopes to accomplish from the tour, he said: “I think her words speak for themselves. Of course, she’s not political. She’s never going to lobby governments to do anything, but I think what she’s doing is highlighting a problem and hoping that all sectors of society, whether that’s governments, whether that’s private sector, whether that’s the public sector, parents, teachers, kind of take notes and take action. And I think that’s what her work is doing.”
Asked about what it will be like for the princess undertaking the trip without her husband Prince William he said: “This is seen, according to palace aides, as a working visit, an international working visit.
“So it is separate from any of the global statesman like appearances we see when she’s alongside the Prince of Wales. She’s not supporting her husband. This is her going alone, going solo.
“And you know, being an independent woman, independent future queen and member of the royal family…I think it actually shows the confidence she has gained over the last three and a half years since her cancer diagnosis, that she is prepared to go on a very high profile international visit by herself to highlight an issue she cares about.”
