Loose Women ‘BACKSTAGE CHAOS’, Ruth Langsford announces ‘TEMPORARY PAUSE’ – What happened?

Ruth Langsford announced on Tuesday’s episode of Loose Women that the show would be temporarily taken off-air. The ITV presenter confirmed that instead of the usual Wednesday slot, an ITV News special will air to cover The Chancellor’s Budget 2024.
Normally, Loose Women broadcasts from Monday to Friday between 12.30pm and 1.30pm, but the upcoming budget coverage will begin at 12.15pm. and conclude at 1.50pm.
Ruth interrupted her guests saying: “I’ve got to stop you there,” and continued: “We are running out of time massively. Thank you so much.”

She then mentioned: “That is it for today; we are not here tomorrow. It is the Budget, how lovely,” and concluded by announcing the show’s return on Thursday at the familiar time, teasing future guests. “But we will be back with you on Thursday at 12.30pm with Strictly’s Johannes and Montell.”, reports the Mirror.
Chancellor Rachel Reeves is set to present Labour’s first Budget in over a decade, a task she has indicated will come with “difficult decisions.”
The Budget speech will set out plans for taxes and spending across various public sectors. In response, opposition leader and Conservative Party head Rishi Sunak will address the House following Reeves’ presentation.

During the same broadcast, Ruth had to interrupt an interview with comedian Romesh Ranganathan and his mother as they promoted their new television series.
A pesky fly interrupted a TV show, prompting host Ruth Langsford to apologise to viewers. This came as panel guest Romesh Ranganathan was commenting on his relationship with his mother: “I think the problem with mum, if you don’t mind me saying, is she has got too much faith in me. I feel like she would assume that I am going to do really well… then I wouldn’t and she’d be really disappointed.”
Amidst trying to fend off the fly, Ruth interjected, “Sorry, that is our last fly,” offering a light-hearted apology for the distraction.
