Former NFL flop Johnny Manziel has split with Josie Canseco after almost a year together, it has emerged.
The news was first reported by TMZ Sports on Thursday, saying there is no bad blood between the two.
The report adds, however, that Manziel ‘had some work to do on himself’. Manziel has been open about his struggles with depression and substance abuse.
But the news is surprising given that in December, they shared a steamy video of them both in a bathtub.
It was Canseco who uploaded it to social media to celebrate Manziel’s 32nd birthday.
She captioned the footage: ‘A love like you. My best friend and my forever.

‘I’m so proud of the man you’ve grown into. You are the kindest heart I’ve ever met. How’d I get so lucky. Happy birthday my baby.’
Alongside the caption was a video of Manziel washing his girlfriend’s hair, while the pair sat naked together in the bath.
Manziel and Canseco had been official since April, and appear to have gone from strength to strength since announcing their relationship at Stagecoach music festival.
Canseco is a model and the daughter of six-time MLB All-Star and two-time World Series champion Jose Canseco.
Manziel, meanwhile, is now a business owner and a podcast host, and regularly tells stories of his bad boy past now that he has cleaned up his act.
The ex-quarterback was one of the hottest college prospects of all-time when he left Texas A&M and was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 2014, but his time with the franchise was overshadowed by a series of off-field controversies.
He was released at the end of 2016 in the wake of domestic violence incidents, alcohol-fueled all-nighters and lying to the team over bye-week parties.
In August 2023, Manziel also spoke out on a suicide attempt as part of a Netflix series about his life.

‘I think I was just running from problems,’ Manziel said. ‘Direct self-sabotage, trying to burn this thing down.
‘I had planned to do everything that I wanted to do at that point in my life. Spend as much money as I possibly could, and then my plan was to take my life.
‘Months prior, went and bought a gun that I knew I was gonna use. I wanted it to get as bad as humanly possible to where it made sense, and it made it seem like an excuse and an out for me.
‘Still, to this day, I don’t know what happened, but the gun just clicked on me.’
