King Charles III is set to highlight key issues during his upcoming Scottish meeting amid his rising tensions with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
On Sunday, September 14th, GB News reported that His Majesty is ready to host executives from Nvidia, Anthropic, Google DeepMind and OpenAI in the forthcoming weeks.
The aim behind planning to host executives of the AI experts is to foster what sources describe as a broader appreciation of the duties that come with building such powerful tools.
Revealing the additional details of the 78-year-old monarch’s unique engagement, an insider has shared, “The King is there to convene, listen and encourage those discussions and to pose the question of: ‘How do we develop AI for the good of humanity?'”
The monarch will also join Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang, Google DeepMind founder Sir Demis Hassabis, and IonQ chairman and chief executive Niccolo de Masi.
“He wants to ask the question: ‘Would it be helpful to have a set of principles?’ His feeling is it is not an easy thing to do, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try,” another tipster added.
King Charles III’s interest in AI
King Charles III has a deep interest in artificial intelligence, as he views it as one of the greatest technological leaps in human history, comparing its significance to the discovery of electricity or the splitting of the atom, while actively convening global tech leaders to ensure it is developed for the good of humanity.
In his November 2023 address at the UK’s AI Safety Summit at Bletchley Park, he stated that AI could completely transform life, helping cure major diseases and accelerate the journey to net-zero energy.
He has repeatedly urged urgency, unity, and international coordination to protect human privacy, democracy, and livelihoods from unchecked AI development.
