Prince Harry has been slammed on TalkTV over taking too long to respond to King Charles’ offer to stay at Buckingham Palace. The Duke of Sussex, 41, touched down in the UK on Monday (July 6) and was originally thought to be residing at the Palace during his stay. However, because Harry reportedly took too long to respond to the invite, the offer was withdrawn.
Speaking to TalkTV’s Mark Dolan, Kinsey Schofield revealed the offer had been on the table for months, with Harry given plenty of time to accept given he had been planning this trip to the UK since January. The royal commentator said: “Friday was the deadline. Harry rejects the offer on Saturday, then changes his mind. Harry goes back over the weekend and says he’s changed his mind. But the Palace says no. They need days, if not weeks to plan for this.

King Charles has proved he is not willing to pull strings for his youngest son anymore, it has been claimed (Image: Getty)
“It’s not a lived-in space. They would need to get a chef on board, food and beverages and would need to provide the staff who would take care of Harry and his children.”
Kinsey pointed out that the Palace were expecting Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet to join Harry, as well as their “entourage”.
“Then Harry’s calling and saying, ‘Sorry, it’s just going to be me.’ What a waste of resources!”

Mark agreed, noting that additional planning would have been required as the Palace would have had more security personnel on site.
He claimed the situation reflects Harry’s attitude, describing him as “entitled, arrogant, and out of touch.”
Kinsey suggested that Harry believes King Charles can resolve his problems “at the snap of a finger.” However, she argued that the King is putting his foot down and refusing to give in when it comes to his youngest son.
“King Charles proves over and over again that he wants to be reasonable, he wants to be fair and he’s not like that. He’s not going to call and make special arrangements for you, security wise. It’s unconstitutional,” she said.
“He’s not going to make sure that you win. It was actually King Charles that advised him not to sue the Daily Mail and here we are, Harry with egg on his face and King Charles trying to keep his distance because who wants to be drawn into this drama?”
Kinsey added: “His father has proven to be a fair individual that wants things to play out the way that they’re supposed to, and he’s not going to pull strings for his son.”
