Ross was left fighting back tears on Strictly It Takes Two(Image: BBC)
Strictly Come Dancing star Ross King was left fighting back tears as he spoke out on his future routine after a low score from the judges last week.
The US showbiz reporter, who is known for his work on Lorraine, took to the dancefloor for the first show on Saturday night and performed the cha cha cha alongside pro partner Jowita Przystał.
Ross kicked off his routine in spectacular fashion, sliding down a red slide and Jowita then joined him on the dance floor in a sparkly outfit.
Despite putting in all efforts to impress the judges, it wasn’t enough as Craig scored him a 2, Motsi scored him a 3, Shirley scored him a 2 and Anton scored him a 3.
With a combined score of 10, it is the second lowest score in show history. Ross and Jowita appeared on Strictly spin off It Takes Two on Wednesday (October 1) night and it’s clear the score has affected Ross’s confidence as he admitted: “I’m completely out of my comfort zone.”

In a candid moment, while speaking to host Janette Manrara, Ross opened up and said: “I have never danced and I can’t dance. At one point I did go ‘maybe I need to put my hand up and go this is not for me’ because I didn’t think I would get through the routine from start to finish. So to start it and finish I was really happy.”
Touching on his performance, he joked: “I think Jowita tried to kill me with the slide at the beginning. I nearly took out three cameramen.”
He continued: “I was also really disappointed with Craig because I thought we were giving him the perfect downhill Ross but it was downhill all the way after that.”
The star was visibly moved as he explained: “It’s completely out of my comfort zone but I’m so lucky to have this special lady by my side to get me through it and to keep building me up and my confidence.”

Turning to his professional dance partner, he said: “You’ve never once lost your temper with me, lost patience with me. I don’t think people realise the job the professionals do. What they have to deal with. You’re like a therapist and a trainer.”
Looking on to his upcoming performance on Saturday night, Ross became tearful as he shared the emotional reason behind his song choice.
The star will be taking to the dance floor to perform the waltz to Sunshine on Leith by Proclaimers. As they watched a clip from rehearsal today, Jowita praised her partner as she said: “Ross is doing so well. I think ballroom is more close to his heart because Ross loves a heel lead so this time, it is allowed. He can do it and loves the song.”
Fighting back tears, Ross admitted: “I get tearful every time. Even now.” Jowita jumped in: “It’s beautiful because the song means a lot to him and we are dancing for Scotland this week so we are dedicating this dance to Scotland.”
Ross added: “I think what the judges said I took a lot from it and I paid attention to what they were saying.”
