JUST IN: Harry and Meghan torn apart with five words by TV star over ‘US return’
Megyn Kelly has launched a furious attack on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after a new report suggested the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could leave Britain once again.
Speaking on The Megyn Kelly Show, the US broadcaster reacted to a Daily Mail report claiming a return to Montecito, California, had not been ruled out by the couple and could potentially happen within weeks.
The report suggested that any decision could depend on the outcome of a security review involving RAVEC, the body responsible for decisions surrounding protective security for members of the Royal Family and other public figures.
Kelly made clear that she had little sympathy for the Sussexes, eventually declaring: “They’re the UK’s problem now.”
Kelly Questions Harry’s Security Concerns
Harry and Meghan reportedly returned to Britain last month with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The couple have since faced renewed attention over Harry’s security arrangements in the UK.
Referring to the latest report, Kelly argued that Harry knew his previous bid for publicly funded protection had been rejected before deciding to return.
“They knew that they were not going to get this security,” she claimed.
She also openly questioned Harry’s previous statements about the level of threat he faced in Britain.
“So, knowing he’d been denied, and that his alleged threats — which I don’t believe — were in the UK, he moved back there anyway, with his wife and his children,” Kelly said.
Her comments represented her own assessment of Harry’s security concerns rather than an independent finding about the risks faced by the Duke or his family.
School Arrangements Come Under Fire
Kelly then turned her attention to reports surrounding Archie and Lilibet’s schooling.
According to the account she was discussing, Harry and Meghan had changed their children’s UK schools after concerns emerged about the daily journey and security arrangements.
Kelly accused the couple of failing to plan adequately before the move.
“He didn’t bother checking out the school route that he was going to have to take his kids on every morning,” she said.
“They did no due diligence.”
She argued that the situation could have been handled more discreetly and suggested private security arrangements might have reduced the problem.
Kelly also criticised Meghan’s social media activity, alleging that posts had contained clues which allowed people to work out details about where the family were living.
She claimed this eventually contributed to attention turning towards the children’s school.
‘We Don’t Want to Inherit Them Again’
The broadcaster became even more outspoken when discussing the possibility of Harry and Meghan returning to California.
Kelly characterised Harry’s position as demanding that British taxpayers cover security costs or risk seeing the family leave again.
She told listeners: “We don’t want to inherit them again. We did our time.”
She then concluded with the pointed remark: “They’re the UK’s problem now.”
The comments were Kelly’s personal criticism of the Sussexes and not a statement from US authorities or the wider American public.
Sussex Future Remains Unclear
The renewed speculation comes only weeks after Harry and Meghan reportedly returned to Britain after spending six years primarily based in the United States.
According to the report Kelly was reacting to, a permanent move back to Montecito remains one possible outcome, but no final decision from the Sussexes was cited.
Much may depend, the report suggested, on future security arrangements.
Harry has repeatedly placed security at the centre of his concerns about bringing his family to Britain, while critics such as Kelly have questioned both his arguments and the decisions surrounding the family’s return.
For now, however, claims that Harry and Meghan could leave the UK again remain based on reporting and speculation rather than an announcement from the couple themselves.
What is certain is that the possibility alone was enough to provoke one of Kelly’s most uncompromising attacks yet — culminating in her declaration that she has no desire to see the Sussexes return to America.
