Good Morning Britain was left in chaos as a report was interrupted by loud bangs and Richard Madeley revealed an agonising injury minutes into the show on Monday.
The ITV news show returned to our screens today (9 June 2025) to update viewers with the latest headlines from around the world.
Hosts Richard, 69, and Susanna Reid, 54, went across the studio to Ranvir Singh, 39, to get an update about what has been going on with the protests in Los Angeles.
North America Correspondent Noel Phillips was live from LA and told Ranvir: ‘As you can see Ranvir, the police appear to have lost control of this particular area here in sown town LA, people are setting fires in the middle of the street, reports of looting, we have witnessed people running with what appears to be boxes from stores.’
Moments later one of force tried to get the journalist to move back, with him adding: ‘As you can see police are trying to get these protestors Ranvir, off the streets. We are going to try and bring you more a little bit later.’
Just seconds later a loud bang went off and Ranvir told viewers: ‘Just to be clear, my producer is telling me that was fireworks, because of course, there are several cameras there.

Richard Madeley revealed an agonising injury just minutes into the programme on Monday as he showed off his cast
‘I just want to that clear for you because it is alarming to hear that sound behind a live report.
‘Of course Noel is on the ground for us all morning, we will bring you much more from that live developing situation in Los Angeles.’
Later on in the episode the show checked back in with Noel and he confirmed that he was okay.
Elsewhere in the episode Richard opened up about his recent injury as he displayed a cast on his arm under his suit.
Right at the start of the show, Susanna said: ‘Richard… you better explain.’
‘I thought you were going to say, “Did you have a good break?”‘, he replied.
The camera then zoomed in on his arm and Susanna pointed out: ‘That looks sore!’
Richard confirmed: ‘Yeah it is a double fracture of the wrist. I was walking quite quickly down a steep pavement, in France actually, on Friday.

‘It was loose and it flipped up.
‘It flipped me forward and I thought…”Am I going to win or is gravity going to win?”
‘Gravity won. I hit the ground hard.
‘I’ve got a double fracture. We’ll see how it goes.’
Susanna asked: ‘Is it sore at the moment?’
Richard replied: ‘I’m not discussing the pain threshold. We don’t think about pain.’

It comes after Natasha Hamilton opened up about her secret skin cancer battle in an emotional Good Morning Britain interview on Friday.
The former Atomic Kitten singer, 42, gave fans a health update as she spoke about her diagnosis of Basal-cell carcinoma -which she received last year – with hosts Kate Garraway, 58, and Robert Rinder, 47.
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is a type of non-melanoma skin cancer. Non-melanoma means it does not involve skin pigment cells.
Kate pointed out: ‘I was saying thankfully because we want to establish that you are now fine. You’re cancer free and all is good, but you’re a living health warning in a way.’
Natasha said: ‘I am. Now I have to be really vigilant, I have to check my skin all the time.
‘Since then I’ve had a few things appear where I’ve had to go back to the dermatologist, they’re on the “watch list”.’
