Prince Harry has faced a brutal blow as a new poll shows Brits agree with King Charles’ bombshell move this week. Just days ago, a letter sent on behalf of the King to Prince Harry’s team, government departments, military officials and Lord Lieutenants, was made public.

The letter in question made it clear that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who relocated back to Britain with their children last month, are not working royals despite their move back to Britain. The letter, sent by the Lord Chamberlain, a top Palace official, also made it clear that Harry and Meghan are not allowed to use their HRH titles and are instead to be private citizens. It is believed the letter was penned to stop any confusion after the duke and duchess’ UK return.

While Harry is believed to be unhappy about the letter, especially as it came as a “surprise” according to his team, it seems that Brits do not feel the same way.

On September 8, The Daily Express launched a poll at 10.30am asking readers whether King Charles was right to release the statement on Monday. The poll ran until 8.30am on September 10, and had more than 12,800 votes.

A staggering 12,514 people said yes, the King was right to release the statement.

Only 312 said the monarch wasn’t right to have done what he did, while 42 people said they don’t know.

One reader commented: “With Harry and Meghan acting as they do, like they are still working royals all over the world.

“I think Charles had to do it to remind them what they agreed to when they left. Just because they moved back to England it does not mean the Sandringham agreement did not still exist.”

Another Daily Express said: “Definitely the right thing to do. Our King will always put the monarchy first.”

Someone else wrote: “Definitely, it is now clear to both Harry and the public how he should be treated.”
