BREAKING NEWS: Meghan has made herself a laughing stock – her Hollywood dreams are officially dead

Meghan Markle’s Hollywood dream looks officially dead in the water. She and Prince Harry announced their return to the UK with their children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, in a bombshell move following their exit from the royal family in 2020. As the Sussexes moved to the Cotswolds, supposedly to be close to King Charles’ Highgrove residence in Tetbury, rumours conveniently began to swirl that Meghan, the highly sought-after actress that she is, had already been given work opportunities in the UK.
She had reportedly been offered a role in the third season of Netflix series The Gentlemen, but things rapidly got quite embarrassing for the Duchess as she was said to have lost the offer due to the overwhelming backlash from the public. Then it turned out that Meghan wasn’t actually offered a role, but had misunderstood a conversation with the series casting director. An insider told Page Six: “She took it as an offer. And it wasn’t. And [she and Prince Harry] thought it would be helpful in the moment for there to be a reason for their move.” Awkward.
These reports came out just as The Gentlemen cast started doing publicity for the second season of the hit series, and they no doubt loved being constantly asked about whether Meghan may or may not be appearing in something they’d spent the past year filming every day. As actors, it must be extremely irritating to spend all your time and effort to make a great show, only to have someone steal your thunder at the last second.
And it seems Theo James, who plays Eddie Horniman on the show, was left fed up with the endless speculation about Meghan’s potential role. When asked by Entertainment Tonight whether an ex-royal could be appearing on the show as his love interest, Theo laughed and replied: “Yes, Fergie is joining. She’ll be playing my love interest,” and joked in another interview he wanted “Prince Harry to play it” instead.
The actor then declared, “No, I think that was mainly a lot of hot air,” in an apparent swipe at the heavy reporting on the role, with an ever-changing story completely taking attention away from the show itself.

Theo’s co-star Vinnie Jones was equally as blunt when asked about Meghan on the red carpet at the screening, as he said: “We’ve got a lot of pretty women in this [series]. So I’m not sure there’s room for any more.”
So there you have it. Not only did Meghan and Harry’s Hollywood friends start dwindling pretty quickly following their move to Montecito, it seems British actors have also had enough of the pair, and they’ve only been back for two weeks. They are quickly making themselves a laughing stock all over the world, and they only have themselves to blame.
It doesn’t seem like Meghan has the offers rolling in, because the public would have been the first to hear about it. What’s worse, Meghan and Harry will also struggle falling back on their royal title to try and entice more people to work with them following King Charles’s blunt statement confirming that they are private citizens and should be treated as such.
If Meghan does hope of being on screen as an actress once again, her options are quickly running out. The acting industry is all about who you know, not what you know, and it seems like no one wants to know Meghan.
