BBC Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones has shared a health update with his fans after taking a break from social media while the BBC breakfast show is off-air

Morning Live’s Gethin Jones has given his fans a health update after he took a break from posting online. The TV star came back to social media this week while the BBC breakfast show is not on.
Gethin went on Instagram to tell everyone that he’s having fun in Los Angeles with his mates because BBC Morning Live is not on telly right now. The 46 year old also talked about how his MCL injury has stopped him from doing his usual workouts.
He stepped back from TV screens last month as the show took a break, telling viewers: “Crimewatch Live is next and from next week it will be on at the earlier time of 9.30 as we’re taking a little break. Thank you for watching, stay safe, we will see you on Monday 8th of April.”
Back in January, people saw Gethin wearing a knee support at a fancy event. He explained to his fans: “I’ve had an MCL injury so I have been out of action for two months, doing any kind of training.”
But now, Gethin has some good news about getting better. He said he just went for his first run in ages.

He posted a video of himself running and said to his 129k followers: “Went for my first run in over 3 months (since MCL rehab..). As you can hear, some deep breaths. View at the top worth it! Runyon Canyon, popular spot!”
Lots of people sent Gethin messages to say well done. One person said: “These views though. Happy recovery/back to strength,” and someone else said: “Runyon being your first run in three months… impressive.”
A fan praised Gethin Jones, saying: “Well done mate, takes some mental strength to do that after being out for a while.”
Gethin has just come back online to tell everyone he’s been hanging out in LA with friends. He took a little time off from TV and social media.
Morning Live isn’t on right now, but it will be back on Monday, April 8. Gethin posted on Instagram about his break, saying: “Little break for us on @bbcmorninglive. I’ve run out of superlatives for our brilliant team. The focus is always on taking on the subjects that matter to you. Provide help and advice every day.”
He also said: “The interaction with you is the best part of the show, the amount of emails/texts etc are remarkable. Thank you. Amazing how peoples stories help others in similar situations.”
Gethin added: “I’ll probably have a little week off here (socials), but I’ll be bobbing up on @bbctheoneshow soon, so I’ll see you then! Thanks guys.. you’re the best!”
