Piers Morgan has once again slammed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry following the Duchess of Sussex’s latest Instagram post. The mum-of-two, 45, shared her first glimpse of their new life in Britain with her 4.8 million followers online. She simply captioned the post with a Union Jack flag and a heart emoji side by side.

In contrast to their sun-soaked lives in California, Meghan shared an idyllic image of Britain in the autumnal glow, complete with splashing in puddles, roaring fires, fishing, bike rides and country walks with their Labrador, Pula. The 34-second montage includes footage of one of the children’s wellies jumping in a puddle, along with a clip of the Duke and Duchess walking hand in hand down a country lane before Meghan.

Lilibet is seen warming her bare feet by the fire, humming contentedly, followed by a clip of the five-year-old riding a pink, tasselled bicycle with a doll in its seat on the back. Now, the Uncensored host has taken to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share his thoughts on the royals’ latest move online.

Quick to point out the hypocrisy surrounding their privacy debate, he penned: “So they demand privacy and want taxpayer-funded security to protect them… whilst simultaneously posting footage to social media that reveals images of the children and where they’re all living? [confused emoji].”

It didn’t take long for viewers to flock to the comments to share their thoughts online. One user agreed: “You don’t know they’re doing this on purpose. They’re trying to get chased by paps, trying to create some type of chaos so that they win their security.”

Another agreed: “Meghan is absolutely addicted to attention. She can’t survive without it. Harry, someone who claimed to want a ‘quiet life’ away from the spotlight, couldn’t have made a worse choice on who to marry. Besides cash, cameras are her favourite thing in the world.”

A third echoed: “‘Private citizens’ Harry and Meghan have spent years arguing that media attention traumatised Harry, that their children must be fiercely protected from public exposure, and that they need taxpayer-funded UK security because of the risks that come with being who they are.

“At the same time, they post curated footage that shows the children, their home environment, pets, and daily routine to millions of followers. Even when faces are cropped, turned away, or emoji-covered, the posts still advertise family life and location. That is not privacy, that is selective publicity.”

The family will keep their mansion in Montecito, California. They also own a holiday home in Portugal. They have recently said they are “happy to be back” in the UK, and the children have already started school.

It comes after the 61-year-old delivered a withering assessment of the royal family’s reaction to Harry and Meghan’s return to Britain, claiming the news went down like a “sack of potatoes”. Speaking on a live episode of The Royals Uncensored from Lympne Castle in Kent, Morgan said sources close to the family had told him the Sussexes’ reappearance and subsequent response to King Charles’ clarifying letter had been received extremely poorly inside the Palace.

The outspoken journalist said: “This has gone down like a sack of old rotting potatoes.” Declining to name his sources, he went on: “I can tell you my sources, let’s say close to the family… I always protect my sources.”

Morgan argued that the working royals immediately recognised the problem posed by Harry and Meghan operating on British soil. He continued: “They immediately see the problem, which is this: these rival renegades who, you know, in America, they’re known as the grifters, the royal grifters.

“And they’re going to be grifting away to make themselves wealthy to pay for all the burgeoning costs, but they’re not going to be doing the shift work that the actual royals do.” The broadcaster described the couple’s approach as “stinking hypocrisy”, noting that they had previously trashed the monarchy while Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II were dying. He said the Sussexes now wanted the privileges of royal status without the corresponding duties.
