A Place In The Sun fans were left reeling over Laura Hamilton’s property choices for a guest on Tuesday’s episode of the Channel 4 show.
The installment saw the property expert, 43, try and help Jan find her perfect holiday home in La Duquesa, Spain.
Jan, who lives in North Yorkshire, brought her son Jordan along for the ride to help her make a decision.
The retired emergency call handler had a budget of £130,000 so that her four sons and seven grandchildren could come and visit.
Right at the start of the episode, Laura addressed that Jan had a walking stick with her, explaining she doesn’t have it all the time.
Jan said: ‘I have up and down days. I do have a couple of joint issues.’

Jan (pictured) explained that she has joint issues and that is why she uses a walking stick – and explained that moving to a hot country would help
Laura asked: ‘When you’re in the heat, benefits?’ to which Jan replied: ‘Absolutely. That’s why I want to come here.’
Yet unfortunately the search didn’t get off to a good start.
Laura showed her a third-floor apartment with a lift.
But unfortunately Jan wasn’t a huge fan of using lifts, making that apartment and the next home not viable.
Jan did end up liking a three bed apartment with a roof terrace priced at £126,000.
While looking around with Jordan she pointed out that there was ‘a lot of stairs’ but the views that it gave were ‘spectacular’.
Speaking about the apartment afterwards, Jan told Laura: ‘It’s great – only problem is it’s lots and lots of steps for me unfortunately.’
Laura responded: “I thought you might say, there’s no lift, that’s good, because you weren’t keen on lifts…
‘But too many stairs.’
Those watching at home were shocked that Laura gave her an option that involved that many stairs.

One asked: ‘Why offer someone with mobility problems a place in a hilly town and loads of stairs?’
‘If I ever went on that show, and they said Laura will be your host, I’d say thanks, but no thanks.’
‘An utter s*** tip and how would this work with her mobility issues?’
‘Hills with mobility issues??’
The end of the episode saw Laura, Jan and her son gather to discuss what they were going to do.
The last property ticked all her boxes, the size, location, but she didn’t want to put the work into the apartment to change it.
It was on the market for £132,000 and she decided to make an offer of £125,000.
‘That would have to be my maximum offer,’ Jan said.
Laura told her that she could try, labelling it a ‘good offer’, and after the phone call with the estate agent, she got a call back.
The offer got rejected and Jan decided to leave it with them.
